Try changing the small battery in the board. Or if you have two rams in the system, then the RAMs might not the compatible with each other. Hope this helps :)

1. Check first all the cables to be fitted correctly and tight.
2. Check the placed memory by testing it with a memory test app.
3. Check the Power Supply Unit (by change from another system).
4. Put in another harddisk, it the controller on the harddisk fails, this can happen.
5. If nothing works, your mainboard mat be failing.

Describe your (ECS 915PL-A2) Motherboard Problem do not detect hard disk and dvd rider in the bios

1. Check if both drive data and power cables are correctly and tight fitted.
2. If both are fitted on PATA (IDE) on the same port/cable:
The harddisk should be the MASTER and DVD the SLAVE device.
3. Recheck.

4. If not OK, Power OFF the computer (also from the wall outlet).
5. Place the mainboard jumper for CMOS RESET to the other position for a few seconds and place it back.
6. Turn the computer Power ON and check.

Did not see second sata harddisk

To know if your Hardisk is detected follow this steps:

In Windows XP

1. Open Control Panel
2. Go to Administrative Tools
3. Open Computer Management
4. Double Click Storage
5. Open Disk Management

All the list of Hardisk is here, your hardisk is not formatted that's why, so you have to proceed to format just right click that unformatted hardisk and choose format, specify the label for your hardisk or simply leave it blank.

How do I add a second HD

Turn the machine off
Open the case
Look to see if there are IDE connector (Wide Flat cable with a connector usually grey)
If this is not present look for a SATA connector usually a small red or blue wire similar to a cat5e network cable
Scew your HDD in place in the rack connect the cable either IDE or SATA
If you have an IDE drive look for a 4 pin female connector from the power supply
If you have a SATA drive look for the connector from the power supply
Once all is connected then reboot you computer typically your bios should auto detect it.

Let me know what happens from here

Segate UBS hard drive with broken USB port

Solution:

i) i would wisely suggest you not to open the compartment of harddisk, try taking it to nearest repair centre since these part are very delicate(like they have delicated soldering ...or components....)

i would suggest not messup with the broken parts and loose your whole harddisk ..............

Installing extra hard drive

before opening cpu just confirm that the another harddisk is master or slave by going to BIOS set up or CMOS setup....

then open you cpu
see near the harddisk which is already connected ...
then do the following:
first you have to make jumper settings .. if the harddisk which is already connected is master then you must make the extra harddisk slave by shifting the jumper to next two pins .... about jumpers it will be defined on the harddisk label refer it....

. . . .
. . . .

just refer this simple dots as pins which is parallel.. ... if you want to make master then you put the jumper to this first pins parallelly if you want to make slave then put in to second pins parallely...
then
1. there will be one bus which is left empty parallel to the harddisk which is already connected... the bus will broad and it will be in white colour ... connect it to extra harddisk correctly...
2.there will one more parallel power supply which will be have 4 pins small one ... connect it to extra harddisk the yellow wire must be facing you....
then just switch on the pc and check in bios settings the extra harddisk is detected or not... if not you have not connected properly connect it properly...
