Question about Casio Exilim EX-S500 Digital Camera
The lenses are mounted to cylinders and the outside of the front cylinders have pins mounted to them. The pins ride in little tracks that move the front one in and out. The cylinders rorate with a motor and gears. You could have damaged gears or the pins could be off track. Its hard to know without seeing it. There is a guy who does camera repair really cheap and he sells some of the cameras he repairs on e-bay. His name is "darntoothysam" maybe you can search his webpage or the user name on e-bay. Hes really cheap too. I think what he usualy does is just swap out parts. Hes been doing it a while and has a tone of extra stuff to swap around. You could try and fix it then send it to that guy if you cant figure it out. You have to really tearn them down far to get to the lens mechanism. Did you drop it?
