I bought a new inverter for my omnibook which worked fine but now the little black cable that goes from the inverter to the motherboard is bad. Can someone please tell me what the name of that small cable is and give me a part number for it. Thanx

Try to adjust the back-light on the screen by pressing the FN and UP arrow to increase the light.
If that does not work then it means that your back-light on the screen has either failed completely of works for a couple of minutes and then it goes off. You need to have your screen replaced with a new one.
Try attaching an external monitor to the laptop & see if you could get any display on it. If this is successful, then you might have either a faulty LCD cable or screen inverter board. The
LCD cable transfers data signal from the motherboard & video card
to the LCD screen. It also supplies high voltage DC power to the screen
inverter board. The screen inverter board works as a power supply for
the backlight lamp mounted inside the LCD screen. It converts low
voltage DC power to high voltage AC power needed for the backlight lamp.
You could have a faulty video cable or connector or a faulty LCD screen.
Try reseating the video cable/connector at the motherboard. If that doesn't work then a replacement LCD screen may be your option.
LCD screen replacements are available on the Internet, do a Goggle searh for replacements. You can try LCD Parts. - use this link to get to their WEB site for service, repairs, parts & DIY info. www.lcdparts.net
