"PXE-E61 MEDIA TEST FAILURE CHECK CABLE"
This means that the motherboard and harddrive are not communicating correctly, there is no data cable to connect the harddrive to the motherboard on a laptop the harddrive connecting plug is soldered directly to the the motherboard.
Either your harddrive is dying, or your motherboard has gone faulty. Laptop repairs are quite involved, if you are not familiar with taking laptops apart I would suggest you get profesional help with this problem.
If you want to have a go yourself I can point you in the direction of websites I use when doing laptop repairs.

I have a hp presariocq62 laptop and when i turn it on it doesnt boot up it reas error has occured press ctrl alt del to restart what should i do ty

Either:
* the "data" cable between the motherboard and the disk-drive has become detached
* the "power" cable between the motherboard and the disk-drive has become detached
* the disk-drive has "died"
* your installation of Windows is corrupted

Either way, Windows cannot "start" nor "complete" the boot-up process.

Take your desktop/laptop to a qualified technician, for proper trouble-shooting, replacement of "dead" parts, and repair.
Take the original HP "System Restore" CDs, too,
so that Windows can be re-installed, if necessary.

HOW DO I FIX THIS ERROR THAT I GET WHEN I BOOT MY COMPUTER ITS A LAPTOP RUNNING WINDOWS XP PRO IT CRASHED AND I TRIED REINSTALLING WINDOWS AND THIS IS WHAT I GOT A MESSAGE SAYING THIS BOOTMGR IS MISSING...

Is a long and hard process and you need to be patient.

You can obtain Windows XP Setup boot disks from Microsoft, but only by download. They provide the Setup boot disks so that you can run the Setup program on computers that cannot use a bootable CD-ROM.. If you can start your computer from a CD-ROM or from a network-based installation, we strongly recommend that you use those installation methods instead.

You need to make a boot disk for a Windows XP system. .A boot disk can start the operating system on a computer running Windows XP if it will not boot properly and the damage is suspected to be in the files that start Windows.
Problems occur, issues arise, and most times it's unavoidable. Corruption or a boot sector virus can render just about any system dead in the water. So what could happen? In this section we cover some basic issues that can occur so that you just what your up against and why a boot disk can be very handy.

If you are not sure ask help from somebody that can understand this procedures.

When It goes to loading screen it restarts

It is becasue of your computer is not properly shut down and so your harddisk has some bed indexing of memory location.
For that you need winxp disk or recovery disk.
Then boot your computer with that disk .
You have to set first boot device as your cd or dvd rom.;
For that when you power up press F1 or F2 or "del" key to enter in bios .
Then go to boot option then sewt first boot device as your cd or dvd rom.
then save settings then put winxp or recovery disk in rom.
Then follow the procedure .
Then enter in recovery console then type in prompt "chkdsk /r"
then it fix error on harddisk.
Sometimes this command fix eror and then after restart windows load normally but sometimes need to repair windows.
So after check this if still face issue just chose "r" when it finds your previous version of windows then it recovers your windows.

Let me know if you need more assistanse.
Thanks.

A disk read error occurred press ctl-alt-del to restart goes back 2 same scrn

Sounds like the hard drive has errors.
Boot to a windows XP cd.
Repair using the windows console.
at the repair console type:

chkdsk /R (hit enter)

Let that run, it takes a long time.
If it's able to repair the drive enough for operation it will.

If it cannot you will be forced to replace the hard drive.

Pc restart before entering os

Okay you will need to run the OS install disk. DO NOT REINSTALL THE OS!!! Instead enter the repair portion of the disk. When you get into the dos command screen type "fixboot" without the quotations. It will ask you if you wish to continue. Then restart. That will fix your problem. If it doesn't tell me and I will continue troubleshooting.

Everytime i try to start up my computer the message disk read error occurred then it asks me to press ctrl alt del to restart but it just repeats the same thing when i start over

1 - Have you tried a different IDE cable?
If not give it a go and do a repair if needed again!

2 - You may have a corrupt MBR (master boot record)!! You will need to reformat and do Fdisk /mbr to delete the master boot record!! Save all data first as this will not allow you to access any of your data as all file location addresses are located in the MBR!!

3 - Your harddrive may have a bad sector get a zerofill tool(low level formatting tool)!! This will rewrite you HD's sectors putting them back to factory spec's!! Maxtors is called Maxblast you can get it from thier site!!

4 - or it could be a defective drive, but most read errors are due ot corrupt MBR or a bad sector!!

I have a HP 8595c computer. I put a DVD in and it froze. I restarted the computer and now it won't boot up proberly. I get this message. "Non-System disk or disk error Replace and strike any key...

Non-System Disk or Disk Error results when the Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) cannot find the boot sector or the master boot record is missing or damaged; i.e. the device does not have bootable media. The BIOS searches drives in the order usually specified in the CMOS Setup. This order is often, but not always, A: (floppy drive), C: (first partition on the hard disk)… The error will occur during startup if the CMOS is set so the BIOS seeks the floppy drive first and a non-bootable (or blank) floppy is in (was left in) the floppy drive. Other causes include:

No bootable partition on a hard disk drive
  • A defective hard disk drive
  • The CMOS drive settings (parameters) are not correct for the boot device
  • Defective floppy
  • Defective floppy drive
  • A virus

Could you explain what are you booting from if like you said "no disk drive on this". What was the last thing the member of your family does on that PC? Any new installed programs, or hardware? Does the PC restarts itself after that "full circle" or stays frosen?
