Re: dvd disk drawer will not stay shut
There is an obstruction in the back of the drawer slot, when the moving drawer strikes the obstruction it reverses. usually lint or pet fur, it can often be vaccumed out through the drawer with a micro adaptor
(xbox360 are notorious for this, if you open the case to clean the **** out MS void the warranty)
or tby opening the case and vaccuuming

You should try unplugging the DVD player from its power source then plugging it back in. Now try to open it and if that doesn't work than you'll probraly have to take it apart to get the disk out but sometimes the DVD players can get worn out or if you have a cheaper DVD player it might just be freezing up on you. I have had these problems before. I just took the DVD player apart to get my disk and then trashed it.
I can't get any support from sansui. I think your DVD player is trying to read the disk. It can't and its stuck in DVD mode. This is just something I would try I don't know if it will work. Unplug the power source hold down the eject button and plug it back in. The objective is to try to get it to spit that disk out before it has a chance to try to read it.I hope this helps. If it does give me a vote and I'll know it worked.
sounds like a bad pickup laseror it might even be dirty I would try to eject the disk if it does not want to eject I would do it manually by take the top off and taking the disk out then try to open it again if it does not seem to move then the motor on the ejector might be stuck or bad. First I would check that run a good cleaning disk and see if that helps if it does not looks like you have to make a decision to repair or replace the unit.
possibly what has happened is the disk is not lying flat in the drawer, and is jamming as you try to remove, otherwise it could be a mechanical failure of the tray itself.
for the first you could try turning the unit upsidown, shake gently, and then put the right side up and try to eject drawer, if there are any rattling noises when doing this it may be that the disk failed in the drawer(broken into pieces),
if this does not help , you may need to dissasemble your DVD drive to recover your disk and reset the drive mechanism. only do this if your machine is out of warranty
the disc may be jammed. try using a paper clip straightened a bit and insert into the little hole in the front of the dvd door. that should release the dvd drawer. if the drawer can not be pulled out because of a disc jam, you can try to close the drawer again and gently shake the dvd player side to side, front to back to jostle the disc back into the tray/drawer. then try the eject button again. failing that, you can try to remove the outer case and that ought to give you access to the disc, and allow you to see where it is relative to the tray. try that and let me know how you are progressing with this problem good luck mark
