Question about Toshiba Satellite P205-S6287 Notebook PC

Problem with my sound

I recently reloaded my Toshiba Satellite P100-180 to XP professional edition from XP Media edition, but to my suprise the sound is no more working, i tried downloading from Toshiba website but it keep giving me error notification during installation that it cannot locate the sound modem or something like that. Pls help me out

That is normal, you need to reinstall drivers after installing the system from a generic Windows CD.
Here is toshiba download page
Click and follow instructions to download drivers.
You may need also to reinstall network, video, modem, and pad drivers if you want to achieve full functionality.

There are no any sounds


First thing make sure you check the manual volume control just on the inboard side of the shell. It's sort of buried below the surface of the shell.
Drivers should be pretty well the same for xp home or pro I think.

Using recovery disk on toshiba satellite p25 when dvd doen't work


if you had your windows XP media bootable edition... use it to format you Laptop...
note: after you format your laptop your files will be deleted... so make a backup as much as possible for your important files

Sound driver


you may just need to reload your driver
if that don't work you'll have to put vista back on
i assume the system came with vista therefore it would have a more updated driver that may not be compatible with xp

put in your cd-rom ( where you put CD's to listen to them) and restart your computer and follow the onscreen instructions.

Proplem Installing Windows XP Home media edition


Unfortunately, you will need to purchase another operating system disc, even though you have the product key. That key is assigned to the disc that came with the machine. Why exactly did the Xp disc of your father's not work?
