This problem only comes up when the battery is not properly charged, therefore not being able to power up the gps beyond the loading map page. Try to reset the unit by holding the power button for about 15 seconds, it will restart the unit, once it restarts it, check if it will get pass the loading map page. Then you try to back up the software on a computer, format it and restore the software back on the unit. If that does not help, then you carry out the following tests.
Try to charge the gps device
for about 2 hours then try to turn it on. If it does not come on, then
it means the battery did not get charged. That can be a problem from
either the battery or the charger or the charging port.
First
test the battery by fixing it in another gps and charging it for about 2
hours then turn it on. If it powers on the gps, then it means the
battery is okay, but if it does not turn it on, then it means the
battery is weak and cannot hold a charge and the solution is for you to
replace the battery.
Next you test the charger by trying it out
on another gps device, if it turns it on, then it means the charger is
intact but if it does not turn it on, then the fault is from the
charger.
Finally, test the gps itself by trying to charge in by
connecting it to the computer using the USB cable, then you turn it on,
if it does not come on, then it means there is a problem with the
connection port or there is an internal problem or something with the
unit.
Hi do you still have the software that came with the gps as it sounds like their is corrupt data on the gps. You will need to reinstall all software and load up all the maps that you need. Let me know how you get on ok
If your garmin nuvi wont stop loading maps, then you need to reaet the unit to get it to work perfectly fine once again. Try to hold down the power button for about 15 seconds and the gps receiver will restart, this time it will load normally and show you your maps.
If that does not solve the problem, then you need to back up your maps then format your gps receiver from a computer then restore the software and maps back on, that should do the job for you.
Hope this helps.
Hello!!!! This is solve your problem.I can help you if you want. my msn: [email protected] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3B5g7sxnvS0 and that i do. I CAN HELP YOU
OK .. first of all there is a rule "NEVER RUN VP AND NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC SOFTWARE AT THE SAME TIME!!"
This problem usually occurs when the NG software has been loaded incorrectly.
Here is the solution:
1) Uninstall the NG software from your computer. 2) Use the Triton CD_ROM and load the sample NG software (This version 4.4.0) 3) Now update the 4.4.0 to 4.4.3
Now you have the correct software. Just reload your maps from the NG CD_ROM data disks and you are OK.
If you have a nuvi 350 download the software to your computer and then load the software onto a formatted sd card. Insert the sd card and bootup the Nuvi 350. The sofware will then load onto the Nuvi 350. If you have a Nuvi 200 I would think it works the same but I have not tried it.
Hope this helps
You have not only erased all of your maps but you have also erased all of the internal software that was a part of your Garmin. I do not recall seeing anything on the web site that resolves your issue. If you can get a hold of another 205 perhaps you can make an image file of its software and then transfer that over to yours.
You'll have to obtain a copy of the Magellan Roadmate manager disks, load them into your computer, connect the GPS to your computer using the USB cable and the use the "Roadmate Manger settings" to change the language.
