Mother board doesn's recognized sound device, c-

I guess there is problem with drivers my be they are not properly installed.. For this Go to Control Panel ---> System ---> Hardware ---> Device Manager if you have any device marked with a question mark or yellow admiration. See also Device Sound, video and games, to see if the driver is installed.

if you got a Software CD with your system then it should have the
Audio Drivers. Just Reinstall it.

I hope it will help.
Thanks

My computer says that I do not have a audio devise installed, I have no sound. I have a gateway model # gt5082 serial # xcm65q1005073

A couple of helps, I will try.
Go to the system in control panel, if it is Windows, and check if you have any sound device installed.
If that produces no device in the sound, then proceed to re-install the drivers for you type of sound device in the unit.
If one is installed, remove and reinstall with the correct driver.
If this fails, and you have sound on the mother board, you may have a bad board, or something may be turned off in the bios or on the mother board, such as jumpers wrong.

Sound problem

Go to Device Manager and check if you see a Red X next to the Sound Device.
Reinstall the Sound drivers & so the device.
The drivers seem to have corrupted in the process of mother board CD installation and other things that you installed.
If this doesn't help, or you have any confusions, tell me what machine you have & what O.S

Thanks & Gud Luck!!

New installation of mother board

Hi check the cables from the case to the mother board. They should be marked and the book that came with the board will tell you where to connect them. The std markings are HDD [red led] PWR S [powerswitch] RSW [reset switch] PWR LED [case power light] To test if there is no fault in the board or power pack. first visualy check the board to see if you have a red led light on when the power is turned on, if not the problem is in the power pack or the wall outlet. second if the light is on, the bridge the pins marked pwr switch on the board with a screw driver and this should start the computer, if not you have a faulty board. Sound problem!

May be too basic, but first : 1. Check whether you have installed speakers in the Speaker Out socket 2. Speakers are powered on properly, try on another system for confirmation if possible. 3. Check whether your Microsoft XP with Service Pack 2 ? If not, install SP2 first and try reloading the drivers. 4. Drivers are available at : http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=391284&lang=en Thanks, Rajesh
