After unplugging and plugging into another outlet, the player does not come on at all. It's as thought there is no power to the player. Tried another outlet, still nothing. When we bought the same model player for Christmas, we had the same problem. We took it back to store and traded for this one, plugged it in and it worked fine. Now this one is doing it. Is there maybe a reset swithc we can't see?

I bought my system in Nov 2007 and it worked good may be for few days. Now only thing works is Radio. Other functions like CD, USB and SD card works rarely and have their own timings when to start working and when to quit. I opened the system so many times and played with this and that, plugged and unplugged connector cables, basically opened up the whole system from A-Z and closed it back for many times and still have the same problem. I will work on this piece of garbage for some more time whenever I will be free and try to figure out where the problem is. I like its functions but quality is zero out of ten. I got it for $40 but it doesn't even worth that money.

I had a CDrom that had a weird problem where if i unhooked the drive for a short period it would flip out and the tray would go in and out non stop. If i unhooked it for a day or so it would work fine. It had somthing to do with a cap inside started to dishcharge or somthing and it lowered voltage to a chip inside then when power came back it was at a low voltage that caused a weird problem. When it sits with no power for a longer period it would go completly dead then when it was hooked up it was fin like it was new.
Maybe you didnt have the unit unhooked from power long enough for the power to completly drain from the unit? let it sit over night or a few days and see what it does.

Hi, I have a similar problem. Our system has been working great for about 3 years. Now when plugged in, we get no lights/sound, nothing.
I tried to isolate the problem to one of the power supply boards. The main AC power comes into the first PC board which has a transformer and rectifiying diodes. This circuit appears to change the 120V AC to rougthly 10V DC. This 10V is routed to the second power supply PC board through a 3 conductor cable. The first PC board also has an AC switch that controls the 120V AC power to the second power supply PC board.
The AC switch is controlled via the "STNDBY" line of the 3 conductor cable. This is supposted to be turned on when you hit the "Power/Stndby" button on the front of the unit. However, I get no signal when I hit the front power button. I know the AC switch is still okay because I can energize it by shorting the adjacent pin (+10V) and you can hear the switch closing so I know AC power is getting to the 2nd PC board. Even this doesnt solve the problem as still no lights or sound. I also know that all the fuses on the 2nd PC board are all okay as I've ohmed them out.
Any assistance with what to check next would be greatly appreciated. I'd really like to solve this problem myself and save lots of $$$$.
Thanks,
Jeff
