Question about Mitsubishi WS-55809 55" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Mitsubishi ws 55809 television

TV won't come on at all. Can't get codes because you get no green light. Have power and the fuse by the incoming power is good. According to the manual if no green light it is a microprocessor problem. Could it be something else.

This could be many things, most commonly you would have a power supply problem or a fluid leak, I would look closely at the front of the boards for liquid on them. Let me know what you find

Mitsubishi big screen HD 1080 series model WS-55809. it switched off one day. and when i turn it back on it switches right back off. red light in front. what part do i need to fix it/

That model does not have a red light---Green.

If set powers up for a few seconds (green power light) and goes out do the self check the model indicated has:

On front of set (not with remote) press and hold both the input and menu buttons for at least 5 seconds and release both.

Green power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks a pause and repeat it several times.

Let me know what error code you find (if you have unplugged the set that will clear all errors and you have to plug it in and try to turn set on again---when it fails do the self check)

My HD 1080 WS-55809 won't turn on - little green light comes on for 2 - 3 seconds, then nothing. It was fine - we were watching a DVD but had it on pause - the tv turned itself off - then it won't turn...

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error code 2-2 means short protect which is either caused by bad convergence ICs and/or 2 Pico fuses (F9A05 and F9A04). You’ll need to open the back of the unit and replace the parts that have gone bad to resolve this issue.
Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

TV power will not stay on.

Not worth to fix.Either power supply, sensor or convertion board are too costly for the part.Buy a new TV.

Mitsubishi VS-70707 rear projection TV

Try pushing Input and Menu together and hold them both in for 5 seconds to see if it blinks a 2 digit code which repeats itself. Then let me know what it does and we can go from there.

Mitsubishi WS55809 won't start up.

It's been my experience that this is usually cause by a blown fuse. Check all the fuses on the boards inside the TV
