-   I have had my S301 for about a year. I love the set, but movies, all dvds now just freezes. Sometimes I can rewind and it will freeze again. I can fast forward past the place and it will work a minute then do it again. This happend on new DVD's and old ones. I clean the disk and check for scratches. Nothing helps. We can't enjoy our 301 anymore. What can I do.-   katiebug1

-   When playing DVD, it freezes/pauses? Why?-   Guest
try blowing it out with a can of compressed air even with the door closed and not being used that much the laser will still get dust on it and not read like it should and cause the dvd to freeze up, you might have to take the top cover off to get at the laser which is a round small red thing smaller than a dime .spray all around the track real good
Make sure that theres no smudges on the disc ie, fingerprints or scratches. If all the disc are fine then the slider or tracking motor and or cuirutry is at fault
If your burn your own DVDs, make sure you do this in the "most compatible" format. Some applications won't burn DVDs according to the standards. It could also be a misaligned laser or scratched lens.

I have a JVC HR-XV2EK DVD player. It was a region 2 player. It worked OK for a number of years. Recently, it cannot play region 2 DVDs anymore. I thought that the DVD player must be broken. Accidently, I discovered that it can play Region 1 DVDs instead. Did anyone have this problem before and how do you change it back? I have tried to use LG5000 zip file to change the region code on the player but it does not work either. It can play VCDs and audio CDs though.

I have had my JVC for a few years now but had it lately in a box in the
attic. Now that i've taken it out again. It manages to just play SOME
of my dvds. It's not that the dvds have a different region code because
they all played before. I first thought it was dirty so i bought a dvd
cleaner. That played pefectly but yet when i put in the dvd it does the
same. The only way i can describe it is that it looks like when the
tracking of a video is out. The picture just ''runs'' all over the
screen. Can anyone help? My e mail address is kylejensen73@yahoo.com I will really appreciate it.

Disc plays fine for about 30 minutes, then it starts to skip or hesitate. The last ten minutes of the disc runs fine. It seems to always be in the last third or so of the disc when the skip begins. It will hesitate over and over again for up to twenty seconds before catching up with the lost time. I tried spraying some silicone on the rails, otherwise nothing.

My Mintek 1770 freezes every 5-10 seconds. The only way to get it going again is to turn it upside down and shake it. It takes about 31/2 hrs. to watch a 2 hr. movie. Do not even think of buying this product.
I find that when I burn DVDs using mainly DVD shrink most of the DVDs freeze or skip at some point in play back using my NAD DVD player but it seems to be less or not at all when playing through my PC. I use mainly Verbatim +RW Discs. Any assistance will be very much appreciated. Graham
