Question about Televison & Video

My printer will not print. I have contacted EPSON,and they are saying it is the fault of my computer and to contact the maker. When I try to print, I get the message: MSIMN has caused an error in COMDLG32DLL.. MSIMN will now close. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your compputer. This does not work. Hope you can help me. I have also contacted Microsoft but they say my ME programme is too old, and will not help me. Thank you. dikverme@eastlink.ca Anne Kverme

    Hi

thanks for the advice . However, I have told you, I don''t know how to do this. I am going away for a week, and will deal with it later. I 'need to find someone to help me do this. Just telling me to install or unstall software or printer drivers isn't going to do it for me.

Here

1. try to insert the cd camed with your printer and then look for install driver or something related with your printer. install it again even though youve install it already from past.
2. follow the procedures given by the windows instructions
3. restart pc after the complete installation
4. look for your printer device on the printer & fax located at the control panel. if really the computer recognize your printer.
5. try to make something to print of like on the microsoft word and then print it.
it should be work just fine after that

by the way see also your usb cable connecting to the computer. it must have cause the problem and see also if you have a usb connections. if you want to know if your usb got problem then try another usb device like usb data, usb mouse or anything has a usb and see if it recognizable by your computer. if not recognizable then the problem is the usb driver. if you dont have usb driver then download the usb from this link www.usbman.com and install it to your pc. after that try again the steps that ive provide to you. hope that helps!

Tv not turning on and red standby light flashing

Hi.

If the TV went in standby and does not wake up, staying with led flashing, then the TV has on protect mode after detecting a fault.
When this happens higher voltages are shut down to prevent further damage.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

Also ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box or dvd connected.

If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , startingthe flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

Try reseting the printer to factory defaults- also does the same problem happen when you a printing from a computer or trying to print a scan directly on the printer?

try restoring the printer to factory default settings, you can also try reinstalling the drivers on your computer.

Lex. x 5495 won't print from pc.It worked up to a short time ago. Will print from laptop.Driver,cables. connections are good, occosionally will print a remaining document from previous attempts first thing...

check all this possible problems and solutions:

-Check the printer status lights, or the status LCD screen. If there's a flashing light, or if the status screen shows an error, then it's your first clue to a problem. Most printer manuals have a diagnosis process for alerts.

-
common problems are related to toner or toner cartridges. If the problem is toner-related, check to see if the toner cartridge is empty or low. The printer warning should indicate this. Swap it for a new one and the unit should work.

-
check to be sure that it is connected to your computer. Personal printers connect via either a parallel or USB (universal serial bus) connector to the back of the printer. Follow the cable from the back of the printer to the back of the computer to make sure the connection is good.

-
When a printer acts up and there is no hardware problem, the solution is often driver-related. A printer driver is a piece of software that allows a computer to "talk" to a printer. It's a kind of translator. Occasionally, if a printer has worked previously, but suddenly doesn’t work with a newly installed program, there could be driver problems. To remedy this, download a driver from the printer maker's website, remove the old driver, and install the new driver. Drivers are normally available under the "support" area of a website.

Overheating

There are contacts inside the Livingstation that make contact with the heat sensor on the bulb. If you take the bulb out you will see them in the upper right corner of the bulb housing in the TV. These can become corroded resulting in a poor connection between the TV and the bulb. A poor connection will make the TV think it's over heating even if it's not. There are 3 contacts in the TV and 3 on the bulb. Clean these contacts with a lint free cloth and some alcohol on both the TV and the bulb, being careful not to let your fingers touch the bulb. If your hands are too big to reach inside the TV, rub a pencil's eraser over the contacts to clean them. When putting the bulb back into the TV, seat as firmly as possible, then tighten the upper right screw first.
