step 1: try cleaning the sim card reader using an eraser pull the battery , after cleaning it, try inserting sim card and return the battery if problem occurs....step 2: your phone needs to be openline, sometimes if your phone is locked you can't use any simcards on it.

you can only get a puk code from your service provider, turn your phone off remove the battery and write down your imei number inside your phone. Contact your service provider (O2, orange, vodaphone etc...) and they will provide you with a puk code
