Question about Bravetti EK119H Electric Kettle

2 Answers

Overheating kettle We have had a Bravetti Kettle which we purchased from Canadian Tire about 10 months ago. The kettle worked find until about 2 months ago. We boiled the kettle and after a while the kettle would start again on its own. Yes, I pushed the right button; the bottom one. I would walk back into the kitchen after a while and the kettle would have started boiling again. Once, I walked into the kitchen and there was a funny smell. The bottom of the kettle and the base were both burned. I would appreciate an explanation as to what happened to the kettle that would allow it to turn itself on and burn the kettle. Regards Donna Lippert

Why won't our BOSCH TWK8633 stay switched on?

You don't say how old your kettle is, but if it is less than 1 month, I would go back to the retailer where you purchased. Make sure you have your guarantee or proof of purchase.... Otherwise, going by past experience, kettles that won't stay switched on usually need de-scaling. Even if you can't see any lime scale in the kettle, there are sediments in the water that will build up over time & that can cause the element to overheat. This makes the kettle switch off prematurely or not switch on at all. In the UK, regardless of where you live, you should de scale your kettle at least once a month. If this doesn't work, you should still go back to the retailer, but if it's found that the malfunction uis diue to lack of de-sclaing, this isn't usually covered by the warranty....good luck!

Does not work...displays "EE" only when pluged in.

Try contacting Bravetti/ Shark for manual or perform a european search for the manual. EE might equate to temperature sensor damaged by overheating thus the signal is being send to the microprocessor as inoperative in the firmware.

This design had no safety features for cutting off the heating element if kettle boiled dry - so if you left the kettle on without water the temperature sensor would overheat and become inoperative.

I hope this assist.
