The filters are clean (from Dishwasher) but when turning the machine on the machine starts and then immediately states that the filter need to be cleaned and machine makes a loud high pitched sound.  I have to unplug the machine to stop the high pitched sound.  This procedure continues with all vents and machine being cleaned.  Can you help!

My unit when you plug it in will make a click sound and then when you push the power button the lights come on and then nothing. Really frustrating considering how much we paid originally. Seems the people at brookstone don't really care we called and was told they have no way of contacting the ceo or president of the company. Really bad customer service not a service partner or even parts for the machines. Goes to show how irresponsiable Brookstone really is !

I will look at it over the weekend and see if I see anything. Maybe we can wire around the controls. Have you looked into this? The same thing happened to me. I cleanned the collector plates in the dishwasher and when I pluged them back in, it did not work.

I will keep you posted. Thanks.

The problem most of you are describing is with the "TOUCH SCREEN" device. If it is cracked or broken the system detects a fault and goes into a default mode. I suspect that Brookstone is aware of this problem but did nothing to warn its customers. Nor did the company provide a source of repair parts. I have a model 506840 also and after cleaning it , the problem appeared. The unit was never dropped or mistreated but it is now inoperable. The best approach is to check the screen for cracks. Then check to make sure it is plugged in properly. I am trying to get some parts from Brookstone myself. But, so far no luck.

There is an extension on the back side of the washable filters....they fit into a slot and activate a switch to show that the filters are back in place. The switch actuator is a flimsy piece of plastic and if it has a pin break off it cannot activate the switch. Either that or the extension (if you are lucky) broke off the filter. Mine the plastic piece broke (the notch wasn;t covered by the actuator) and I am trying to get a replacement in the meanwhile I took it apart and bypassed the top switch. Not sure but I think you need one switch to reset the timer they use for cleaning so I did not bypass the filter switch that was still okay. Not an easy teardown, take the bottom off first and then pry the front off, if any of the parts raise up they must be pushed down to reassemble and watch the wires...they are right where it goes back together.

Try leaving it unplugged for a while to reset it.

Honeywell htt 011 air filter light won't go off

Thank you to MPODHOLA. After cleaning your Honeywell HHT-011, if the red light does not turn off locate the very small button under the red light. As suggested use a paperclip, hold the button for 5 seconds and this resets the system. Make sure the unit is on when you hold down the button. I tried it with the unit off and it did not work. Turned on the unit, held down the button for 5 seconds and the system reset. No more red light.

I've replaced the filter. why won't the red replace filter light shut off?!

Remove the front cover and locate the FILTER RESET button above the dust sensor level indicator lights. Press and hold this button for 3 seconds until the unit emits a beep and the REPLACE FILTER light goes out.

I just washed the electrostatic grid and didnt have it thougholy dryed before inserting it back into the unit. Now I cant get the power light to turn on

As long as you have the cells in the correct direction, the air flow direction you should be O.K. If you have a way of turning on a constant fan that will help dry them. I would shut the power button off to the electric air cleaner and run a constant fan for 24 hours. After that, turn the power on and the constant fan off. Turn up the heat and see if it works.

I had the same problem with mine, it would start then go into drying mode. I got it to work properly by smacking it around for about a week then it went back to it's lil tricks with drying mode again. After trying just about everything short of using it for target pratice, I made sure it was clean and dry then I turned it to the Medium setting, pressed the power button waited just a second for the fan to go into the meduim fan level, then I pressed the power button again holding it in before it went into the drying cycle, while I held the button, (don't release) I wadded up some tape to keep the button depressed then I put some tape over that to keep it that way. It works perfect! Note, mine never had any crackling issues to begin with, just the drying cycle thing so use this suggestion at your own risk. Good luck!
