How to get speakers to work that stopped suddenly

Check the sound has not been muted or turned down on the sound icon.

This is on the bottom right hand of the screen, looks like a loud speaker.
If there is no speakers, check the sound icon in the Control Panel to see if they have been disabled or hidden.

Turn on speakers in acer aspire e1-510-2602 notebook

Under Control Panel, pick Icon Sound.

Check that the internal speakers appear as an option. If not search for them as hidden devices and enable them.

Also check the audio mixer to make sure it is not on mute or the speakers volume control is at the bottom.

Speakers don't mute with headphones on

When you plug headphones into a laptop computer, the laptop speakers are usually cut off automatically. However, if you wish to do this manually, there is a way. One common reason for shutting off the speakers is so that your quiet workplace won't fill up with sound if you should unplug the headset for some reason while playing music or performing some other sound-filled activity.

Muting the Speaker but Not the System On a typical laptop running Windows, left-click on the double chevrons of the "Show hidden icons" button in the Quick Launch toolbar at the bottom-right corner of the screen. This will display all your hidden quick-launch icons, and usually these will an include an icon of a speaker that launches the "Volume Control" utility. If not, then you can also access the Volume Control utility from the Control Panel, via the "Sounds and Audio Devices" application. Simply launch that application, click on the "Volume" tab, and click on the "Advanced" button in the "Device volume" section. In the Volume Control utility, click on the "Advanced" button near the bottom-left area of the window. Near the bottom of the advanced controls window, there will be a section labeled "Other Controls." Here you should see some kind of check-box option labeled something to the effect of "PC Speaker Mute." If you check that box and save your changes, the laptop's speakers will be shut off, but you will still be able to listen to any music or other sounds through your headset. It's as simple as that. To cancel the shutoff, simply uncheck the box and save your changes. This method works for all versions of Windows still widely in use. Hope this helps.

Where is the mute button

Typically it will be a picture of a speaker with a circle around it and a line through the middle. Also check your sound settings on the computer (by the time on your desktop). Also check in device manager to make sure you are not having driver problems.

No Sound

Try pressing the volume up button on the right-hand speaker. These units often mute themselves if the power is removed and need to be un-muted by pressing the up volume button.

Dimension 4700 my headphones work fine but i cant

Are you have the headphones and speakers both pluged in? When you plug in headphones the speakers get muted. You need to change your sound settings back to your sound card if you use usb headphones. The plug on the front of the 4700 also automatically mutes the speakers.

Dont know how to connect speakers to computer? three different places the connection fits . but no sound from any?

It is the light green jack. Make sure the mute button isn't on by clicking the 'speaker icon' in the task bar and making sure the mute button isn't checked.
