How may lights are showing up?

3 red light is GPU and the CPU overheating,

2 red lights is general overheating

1 red light is E74 and 4 red lights is the av cable.

For the 1, 2, 3, red lights you will need to get it fixed you can either send it in to do this or repair it yourself

SOURCE: a red ring around the power button comes on xbox 360

It's called the RROD or the Red Ring Of Death. Typically, it's from your 360 over-heating. You have a couple of options open to you: 1) Send it in to Microsoft and have them fix it; which will take a month or 2 for them to do, 2) pay someone who knows what they are doing to fix it for you, 3) go to ebay, by the parts to fix it and then attempt to fix it. If you are not sure about what you're doing or how to go about doing it, then I suggest you don't try it. There are several YOU TUBE videos on how to fix it. Alot of them are just ****. Some are legitimate ways to fix this problem. Firstly, do not actually bake your mainboard in the oven. That's absolutely insane. Also, do not try the "towel trick". It's a good way to permanently ruin your board and is dangerous because you could cause a fire to start. Please leave feedback and a rating on this information.

SOURCE: XBox 360 does not work. Red ring around the start button.

Yes as the above person says it is the red light of doom and you need to get it fixed, is caused by overheating and to fix it you can send it in or fix it yourself with a good repair guide from home.

How can I fix "Red ring of death" on my XBox 360

Three flashing red lights around the Xbox 360 power button (nicknamed the "Red Ring of Death" or "Red Lights of Death" or "Red Ring of Doom"), instead of the one to four green lights indicating normal operation, represent an internal problem that requires service. Warning signs may include freeze-ups, graphical problems in the middle of gameplay, such as checkerboard or pinstripe patterns on the screen, and sound errors, and the console only responds to pressing the power button to turn it off. These events may happen once or several times until the hardware failure occurs, or not at all. If the console freezes occasionally, the error will not necessarily follow. The technical problems seem to affect some generations of consoles more than others. e.g. Xbox 360 60GB This error code is usually caused by failure of one or more hardware components, although it can indicate that the console is not receiving enough power from the power supply, which can either be due to a faulty power supply or if the power supply cable is not fully inserted into the console. The 3 flashing lights can also be caused by power surges; if the console is connected to an outlet that receives a power surge, it may have a failure and the 3 lights will appear as long as the console is plugged into the outlet. Turning off the console, unplugging all power cables and plugging them back in, and restarting the console will fix the issue in this case. hope this helps

Cannot open the disk and cannot read the disk as well. The green light at the center of the ring always blinking

Hello
If you only get a flashing green light on the center while you turn on the console. You should get a green light going in a circle around the center light, (the 4 other lights, that can turn red as well (famous Red Ring of death))
if you don't get any red or green lights around the flashing center ring, then the console is not able to turn on / boot up properly and is in need of repairs, check the powersupply led, what color is it? it should be green when you power on and orange when not in use.

Trying to turn xbox on and getting blinking red ring around power button

If you are having three red lights flashing around the power button with upper right corner not flashing, it means that your Xbox 360 is having a general hardware failure. This is caused by the internal components of the console experiencing a malfunction. You can contact Microsoft Xbox Support for it to be repaired.

Won't read discs and red lights around the green power button

This sounds like the classic "Red Ring of Death" problem that Xbox is notorious for. Here is the Microsoft Knowledge Base article on it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907534

There are several videos online demonstrating the problem and some solutions. I would recommend getting it repaired by an authorized repair center if you are not confident you can fix it yourself, as any unauthorized repair may void the warranty.

While trying to power up my xbox 360 the power brick has an amber/Orange light. When I hit the power button on the 360 I get a green center light and a quick green flash on the power brick, but then...

The red ring of death occurs when an Xbox 360 overheats and melts some of the internal solder that holds components together. This occurs because microsoft distributes them with low quality solder to save money. There are many people who can solve this problem in every state. I live in Rhode Island and there is one person who lives right down my street who does it. You can also send it back to microsoft if it's been less than 3 years since you bought it, because that will be covered under the warranty. -Good luck, and I hope this helps

To fix almost any issue you either need to send it in to Microsoft, or do the Red Ring of Death fix. The fix will fix almost any issue for the 360.
