The oil pump has a worm gear that strips easily if the oil line clogs. You will likely need to replace it.

Poulan 2150 chain saw starts after priming and dies after a few seconds

Take the exhaust off so you can see the side of the piston, if it is scored or damaged it means it has probably been run without oil added to the petrol.
That can cause the problems you are having, if it is throw it away, its not worth repairing

My Poulan Pro chain saw (model # PP4620 AVHD) doesot move B&C oil from the oil reservoir to the chain. How can I repair this?

is the area where you tighten up the chain clean there are a few holes in the bar that allow the oil to drip on to the chain if its been used for a while the holes could be clogged take off the bar and chain and clean with a small flat head screwdriver the groove that the chain rides in there should be a hole that goes all the way through make sure you wipe away any wood chipsthen run it and see if it throws out any oil

How do I set the amount of oil going on the chain?

Most poulan saws don't have oil adjusters. If its not oiling try taking the bar off and clean the grove out with something like a small flat blade screw driver.Blow it out with air if possible. The oil holes are where it bolts on to the saw.Make sure they are cleaned out.

Brand new poulan pro 4620avx--bar oil is coming out of oiler but not getting onto chain

Hello. Thin your bar oil just a wee bit with some kerosene. If you have a gallon of bar oil add 1/4 cup of kerosene, stir it up and you will be fine. For starters also, directly apply some bar oil to the chain so that you are always using a well lubed chain. Joe

I have poulan micro xxv chain not being oil when

wow thats an oldie, That saw uses a diaphragm pump located just above and in front of the clutch drum. Its going tobe hard to find one if its bad, Try cleaning out the oiler hole in the bar first, Then try running the saw without the bar and chain on and see if it pumps. Also check the oil pickup tube in the tank, It has a small screen on the end of it thats prone to sawdust clogging it. If it still does not oil then I suggest you locate the gasket and diaphragm for the pump before you take it apart. Remember to clean everything before reassembling,, Good luck

Poulan oiler don't work

Common problem with Poulan and Craftsman gas saws. Take off the chain and chain guide and clean out all the saw dust etc. Start saw without chain and look for port where there are signs of oil. If port is clear of sawdust, then it is likely the pump which is located behind the chain break assembly. you can get the diagram on Poulan website and the replacement pump will cost about $15 - $20 to replace yours.

Have a MAC 3818 chain saw it just stopped oiling.

Same for me. Take chain off and ensure clean oil hole and channel. Clean hole if needed with fine wire or heavy nylon line. otherwise I think problem is interior, either oiler itself or oiler oil tube came loose. Since I have no excess oil coming out I suppose oiler iself is bad.Still working on it.

Bar sprocket smokes, gets hot spot

Sounds like you're not getting enough oil to the chain. Basically you've got an oil pump, pickup and filter involved in getting oil from the resovior to the chain/bar. If you cleaned the obvious area and the chain is not coated with oil, you may have a clog further up (inside) the oil delivery mechanisms. Also, drain the oil from the tank, and see if you can "blow" air through there. With the saw running & pointed down, you should be able to see oil on the ground being slung off the chain, if not, you are not getting enough oil to the chain.
