Question about Lexmark X4530 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Paper jam Tried to run an odd size piece of paper through my Lexmark X4530 all-in-one. Paper is jammed and can barely see it through a 2mm x 10mm slot. I've tried to run other normal sized sheets through to see if they would help push it out- no luck. Can't locate manual in hardcopy at home. No luck w/ online manual either. Is there a way to open up the printer to get to the roller area easier? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. >Gretchen

Didn't see a "form feed" option. Was able to manipulate stuck paper enough to reach it with a pair of forceps.

Thanks for the help. Have a great week!

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

Good luck..

I have a paper jam. There is a 4 x 6 size paper in the printer. I cannot see it but I know its there. How can I eject the paper?

Try to open the printer cover to access the cartridge area. Firmly hold the paper jam and carefully remove it from printer. Avoid tearing the paper, if possible. Leave no torn pieces in the printer to avoid future paper jams.

I have a Lexmark x2600 printer and when I stated printing many pieces went through and then jammed and won't move in either direction, the paper is really jammed in and I don't see any way to get...

Unplug the printer from the power source to turn it off. Open the printer cover to access the cartridge area. If you see the paper jam, slowly and carefully pull the paper out of the printer. Avoid tearing the paper or avoid leaving torn pieces in the printer. This will cause future paper jams in the printer.

When all is clear, re-plug the printer into the power source. Load some paper and try to print again.
Tips: Use only paper that is in good condition. Fan the paper before loading into the feeder to prevent sticking together. Use the specified media type and sizes for your model. Don't overload the feeder.

There's paper jammed in my lexmark printer. I can't get to it to get it out.

Open the printer cover. You may be able to get a better grip of the paper jam in the cartridge area. Carefully remove the paper jam. Avoid tearing the paper. Any torn pieces left inside can cause future paper jams.

Printer will not completely feed through the printer

There could be something that's blocking the paper path. This article in the Lexmark website on Paper Jam and Misfeed Troubleshooting in the Lexmark X3500, X4500, X4600 & X4800 Series All-In-One might help fix the problem.

How to open for clearing paper jam

Hi,
You will need to open you printer and look for pieces of paper in odd places or see if the paper sensor lever is in the right position. You can also try unplugging the printer and waiting about 1 minute then plugging it back in. See if that gets rid of the message. Some models will allow you to forward a page of paper though the printer even though there is a paper jam. If you can do that then that might clear the jam. Give it a shot!
Good Luck!

Paper jam! paper begins to feed then goes crooked

Please do all the things that you can do before you consider buying a new printer. You can take your printer into a service repair center or computer repair center in your place. If there is nothing that they can do then you can take an option of buying a new one.

My paper went in a little, the wheels were turning but it didn't take the rest of the paper or print.
Someone replied to my problem, i tried it and it fixed 1st time. Also seems to of worked for others

Solution:- Use a piece of thin card, a magazine cover is what i used, make sure its A4 size then try to print something, as the paper starts moving push it through! and hey presto it worked for me, everything printing fine now
