Don't know if phone is LOCKED or what might be my problem
Hi purchased phone off ebay, ok know don't give me grief, they stated unlocked. It is a Tri-band LG KE970 shine. I am with T-Mobile in Galivants Ferry, SC. I have been told by T-Mobile tec people that the Tri-band phones will work in my rural area. When I called them they even had me power the phone up and look at what was going on, but they could not figure out what could be wrong with the phone.
Ok here is what the phone is doing. Put my sim card into the phone, it powers up, shows my contacts, etc. When I go to call a contact it states--
EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY--will not let me dial out. Also when power up instead of T-Mobile it states LIMITED SERVICES.
I have been told if the phone was LOCKED that I would not be able to see my contacts, etc from my sim card that it would not even get that far, is that true?
So what does it sound like the problem might be to u? Don't know how this works but my email is firstname.lastname@example.org
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Hi, Your phone may be locked to its Network, that's why it shows SIM card not valid. In order to use other networks, You need to unlock your phone. Contact your service provider and get the unlock code for your Nokia N73 and unlock your phone. In case, if they don't give you the code, you can get it from online sites. Try Theunlockarena.com ,they provide codes at affordable price!!
Nokia staff don't give answers here in the forum but for sure they
are reading all our posts as I made a typographical error yesterday with
apparently a third party application (instead of typing "NSU"- i typed
something else) that can apparently debrand your phone - which I don't
know of anyway.
Again abour 5 minutes ago, my answer to
somenoe's thread have been deleted as I mentioned about "screws" on the
back of the phone.
This forum "to me" is most pathetic
forum where you post problems, and nokia support don't give help, and
they delete answers that might help other users.
to me they are only using us a guinea pigs to test their phones and
their firmware/software. If nokia can't afford to pay testers, they
should stop manufacturing **bleep** phones, or stop selling them.
Hi.. If you need unlock code means you should provide your Mobile details(Mobile brand, mobile model, IMEI number), country/network it is locked to. So it will be helpful to check the availability of the service for your phone. And i don't know any free service to get unlock code. If you wish to get codes from paid service means get it from Mobile-unlocker.com by giving those details at reliable cost.
hi are you looking for unlock codes then you can purchase the codes from this site prounlocking here they had the unlock codes for all gsm mobile models along with the instruction about how to use the codes in your mobile.
When you purchase a sim card usually gives you 2 codes, first one is PIN CODE and the other one is the PUK CODE. Puk code is the super-long combination of numbers written on your sim package, it should be near the phone number or the pin code.
If you don't have the sim package to recover your Puk, then you should contact the customer service of your mobile network.
I hope this will help you!
Have a nice day!
Hi, i think your step not correct when entering HTC Thunderbolt unlock code. You must use your old sim card to unlock your phone, don't use new sim card before that phones completely unlocked. That's why your sim card not recognized. If this method not working maybe you get wrong HTC unlock code, since it's little rare for me. Usually if you bought unlock code reputable online store, they usually send unlock code with complete instruction how to insert that unlock code in your phones. The bottom line try my method and if not working get new code. Thanks.
NB: don't enter your wrong code to many times in your phones, it will caused your HTC to hard locked state and you can't use that phone even you put your old sim card.
Hi, are you know how to unlock a mobile device? I think you didn't know, since you must give specific data before get Motorola Defy Unlock Code, like your IMEI phones, your mobile service provider. The easy way to get Motorola Unlock Code is buying from online unlock code seller, it will not time to much.
There's no freeware available on that phone. It needs dongle box like vygis, z3x,etc. to unlock it...or you may buy unlock code online..or ask your provider to give you the unlock code. Hope this help.
i faced same kind of problem with my mobile ..................
and i got code from a service provider and my problem solved by this site and let me give you the site address
you try it out
i suggest this site because the service was so good
PIN CODE is SIM dependenet and not phone dependent
PUK code in PIN UNLOCKING CODE, which is required when you give PIN number wrongly for 3 times, This code is OPERATOR specific and not phone specific and you have to call you operator and get PUK if PIN is blocked...
if you provide PUK code wrongly for 7 time, you sim may become useless, then you have to buy new SIM
NOTE: You should ask your service provider, get the PUK, give the PIN 3 times wrongly and it asks for PUk,provide the PUK and set the new PIN..
