First make sure your computer is set to get IP settings automatically can not log on my - d700cda.jpg

locate the command prompt (start->all programs->accessories) & type in the command ipconfig then hit enter

look for the value of default gateway - that's your router IP address

You can usually reset by finding the TINY reset hole button. You'll need a paperclip or something to hit it, but if you hold that for about 5 seconds, it should reset. Some routers are different though, so you should check your manual for that, and for the default password after you set it. Most are just user: admin, pass:admin but since you have a Belkin, it could be different. Let me know if this helps.

Save Be the first! To log in to your D-Link router and change its settings, visit the router's Web interface and log in with the administrative password. You can usually find the interface address and the password on the bottom of the router or in the manual. The most common addresses are and, and most D-Link routers either use the password admin or have a blank password by default. If your router also asks for a username, use admin.

Enter your password -- or leave the box blank for routers without a password -- and click Log In.

Router needs to be reconfigured

Log-on to your router at either: (some routers use this address)

Enter your admin and password names. If these were never set, chances are good you can just press enter to pass right through. You can't change router settings unless you log in.

Once you've logged in, you can then update the router's firmware and configure it to your uses.

Hope that helps!

I want to set up my netgear wireless router but have no intellation cd and when i type in or .net it re-directs me to netgear website. dont know were to go next

The support page for Netgear is here. Enter your model number and select the proper version (check the label on the bottom for the full model number and version). You'll find links to download the user's guide as well as lots of information about setting up your router. You really don't need an installation CD. You can do setup through your Web browser. This will be explained in detail in the information on the site.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using Fixya!

I can't log on to my router and can't log on the internet

Router comes with instructions with a login name and default password. Try logging in that way. If you can't log in to the internet, do a full power down, making sure to unplug modem, then router, leave off for at least 1 minute. Then replug and power up. See if that does it.

Actiontec router log behavior

The router does store the information in itself. The router has a small region for storing information on operations and logs. That log might be accessible from the router's control panel. However, every router is different and therefore I can't guarantee that your router will allow you to view its log.

Most likely the router will store the log in the same area used to store the Router's firmware. This is a relatively small storage chip with just enough space to support the firmware of the router, the router's control panel source files, and the log.

Let me know if I can explain anything mentioned above in more detail or if I can assist you with anything else.

I wana put security code on my router what should i do?? no 1 can use this without my parmition...??

If you are not using the wireless part I highly recomment disabling the wireless part. Just log into your router web console, click on the wireless button, and select disable. If you are using it you can enable the security, change the SSID, and disable the broadcast of the SSID.

Also, be sure and change the default admin password. Write down the new password and store it in a safe place. If you ever forget it your can reset the router.
