Question about Maytag MDB7100AWB Dishwasher

1 Answer

Stops mid-cycle I have a MDB7100AWB that has been working fine for the last 7 years. Now all of the sudden it will not complete a wash cycle in any mode (including auto clean). It consistantly stops at 85 on normal wash & at 65 on light wash and then clicks/buzzes about every 3 seconds, like it wants to continue - but never does. Any clues as to what to try? Is 7 years all I can expect to get?

Thanks. I don't think it is stopping at the point where it should be turning on the 'heat dry' phase because it is only 20 minutes from the start of the cylce - I don't think that it is even time for the rinse phase at this point.

Hi SaviorSound,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumbr.

Your question is: You have a MDB7100AWB that has been working fine for the last 7 years. Now all of the sudden it will not complete a wash cycle in any mode (including auto clean). It consistantly stops at 85 on normal wash & at 65 on light wash and then clicks/buzzes about every 3 seconds, like it wants to continue - but never does. Any clues as to what to try? Perhaps. Your d/w is stoping at the point where it should be turning on the 'heat dry' phase. This can be expensive. At this point I would be compairing the cost effectivness of repair verses replacement. Wish I had better news for you.

    Hi again Savior Sound,

With this info we're talking computer failure which useually entails replaceing the top door panel. You might consider utilizing the Repair Directory to find a repairman. I don't recomend this repair to the average homeowner but you might take a rack at it.

13 yr old dishwasher suddenly stopped working mid pre wash. Water left in bottom of machine. Power point is fine. Will not start at all now though. No lights turn on either. Is it fixable ?

If it is 13 years old, it has most likely reached its end of life--whatever the cause, something has malfunctioned. However, a service technician would probably be able to advise.

My top dishwasher drawer won't finish through the cycle. It runs fine on rinse only but not any of the wash cycles. It stops mid cycles, beeps like it has been paused, then tries to start again

Try to feel the temperature of water inside the dishwasher. If it is normal room temperature for the hot wash cycles then it is likely the heater is faulty.
It is not easy to replace unless you have good experience with repairing dishwashers.

Hi
White film deposits are observed if water is hard or when you are using more detergent than needed, try filling detergent cup half way. Try using white vinegar after the wash cycle is complete, run a complete cycle. Also turn down the heat on the hot water fed to the dishwasher. Try using water softener for better results.
You can also add vinegar in the final rinse cycle. Make sure that your soap dispenser drawer is opening and closing fine.
Hope this helps... Please post back if more information is required.

Dishwasher doesnt drain on wash cycle,ok on rinse cycle

Change the circuit board, timer/progrsmer.
Take it out and clean contacts,
Look for burnt circuit line and solder a fine bead carefully on the circuit board, difficult. Use the pot and pan program.

Maytag MDB7130AWB dishwasher blows circit breaker.

These have been known to leak water into the door panel. If so the water can cause a short. Your breaker is keeping the machine from lighting up. Check any seals that may have been braeched in the door. Start at the dispencer latch
rubber.

Stops mid-cycle (all cycles)

Hello welcome

First I would recommend putting the washer in a diagnostic test mode to see if there is a stored error code indicating where the failure is. Once the cycle starts, it should progress on its own to the end of the cycle without needing any assistance. All you can really do is make sure the water supply (hot & cold) is on & the drain hose is not kinked or restricted. Here is a copy of the service manual showing the test modes & error codes. You can order the owners manual with part number 8566938 at www.sears.com

Brand new dishwasher stops mid-way through wash cycle with soap spilled out all over the door. Can't seem to get past the wash cycle to finish the complete wash/dry cycle.

if there is no water in the bottom of machine, see if your water supply is turned off, or check for a loose wire on the water valve, lastly, check if the float is stuck in the up position. That is the overflow protector. If the machine 'thinks' the water level is too high, it will not allow more water into it. The float is in the front left corner, usually under a raised cover, remove that cover and manually raise and lower the float to allow free movement. It should be normally in the down position. Good luck.

GE Nautilus won't drain after Rinse Cycle

Check disposer plug. If a garbage disposer has been recently installed, it is possible the disposer drain plug was not removed. The drain plug is a plastic piece in the disposer that blocks the hole where the dishwasher hose connects. Also check the hose connected to the disposal. Mine apparently had a kink in it. When I straightened the hose the dishwasher drained at full speed (I recently had a plumber re-route a hot waterline. He must has bent the hose). Hope this helps. If not go to the GE website. That's where I found my answer.
