Question about Panasonic DVD-CV35 Multi-disc DVD Player

Panasonic dvd cv35 troubleshooting

My dvd player will read disks and play them intermittently, when it reads the disks it will play them about half way through then freeze. Then it will unfreeze for about 10 mins. after about the dvd player will display HOS and switch to another disk number( disk 1, disk 2, ect...). How do I remedy this problem?

Hi first try unpluging the device for a half day and see if the problem repeats itself the manual recommend to ask for a technisihion to repair the unit before that try this: take a can of compressed air with a narrow hose open the discs drawer try to locate the laser eye with some light and clean it it should do the job good luck

see this cause and remedies:
Does not play disc
  1. No disc. - Load a disc into the tray.
  2. Disc has been loaded upside down. Place the disc with the label side up.
  3. Disc region code does not match region code of the player.
  4. Disc type is not the correct type to play.
  5. Disc is damaged or dirty. Clean the disc or try another.
  6. Moisture may be condensed inside the unit. Remove the disc and the leave the power on for one or two hours.
finally the OPU, optical pick up unit contain lasser beam, is not reading the TOC, can be defective.see the diagram

My Panasonic DVD Player Model S55 does not read the DVD disk. I get a H02 then no disk reading on the display.

DVD player no longer plays DVD's that I KNOW played on it before.

yes, Lazer wont aline to read, they get progressively worse, sometimes intermittent, if that is the case then you will need a whole new internal cradle. maybe time to get another one. the Yeti

DVD player is unable to read any disk to initialize play

Laser is probebly goin bad and can't read. try putting a music Cd in. If it can play the music CD but not the DVD it's the laser.

Dvd player makes noise, doesn't read discs

mine did the same thing it just kept ticking when i wanted to play a disk, id take to top off with the four tiny little screws and hoover it, mine still makes a bit of noise but works x

I can't play any DVD's. It keeps saying cannot read.

wrong disk ,disk error,
First Clean the lens:

wont open, wont close, makes clicking/grinding noises etc.

Region free code for dvd-rv31

all you need to do is use the DVD Service Disc that you got when you bought your DVD player,, or  go to and e-mail them about getting the codes removed so you can play overseas DVD, they sent me a disk for FREE and guess what it worked,,,, it comes with the instructions, here is what it says,,,

INSERT DISK- and confirm "STOP" is displayed...


Go to "DISPLAY" menu

Select "ON SCREEN MESSAGES" then press "ENTER" button

Press ">10" found on the bottom right coner

Press "6" button

Press "4" button

Press "3" button

Press "8" button


TYPE IN "3192"


the disk will be read, when finished remove disk

Just unplug it and let it sit for half an hour. Then try playing the lens cleaner disc, the problem would be fixed....
