Hopefully you have an anti virus/spyware programme installed, if so keep pressing F8 on boot up to get you into safe mode, this will not allow the trojan to run.

When you get the list on screen choose safe mode, then when windows starts, choose the administrator account, go straight to my computer>properties>system restore tab, and turn off system restore.

Run your anti virus programme and then when the trojan is found and then reboot pc, then turn system restore back on.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

How do i reset my acer aspire one to factory default is ther a download for it

You can get restore CDs from Acer if you didn't burn them when you got your computer. Alt F10 is supposed to get you to the restore partition. Power on, hit Alt F10, you may have to hit F10 several times while holding down ALT button. If you get anything but the restore menu, you don't have restore or you didn't hit F10 fast enough.
If this answers your question, I'd appreciate 4 thumbs. I do this for fun and do not get paid.

You do not have to reinstall the OS. You can uninstall Norton if that is posing problems. To do the go to Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs and select Norton. Remove from the laptop. But, do not remove anything that is related to Acer. Then your laptop will go phut.

Try system restore first and check if that will remove the virus but if not then you can reset the machine to factory defaults by pressing ALT+F10 during start up or when the acer logo appears on your screen.Follow the prompts and you should be able to reset the computer to factory image.Make sure you back up important files because it will wipe the system clean.hope this helps...

Acerpowerfh keeps turning on and off rebooting why?

it does sound like a boot virus problem. you need to boot into system restore. to boot from the restore partition you need to switch on your pc and repeatedly press either F10, F11, Alt+F10, or Alt+F11. you do this until you see the system restore starts. you will be able to fix windows, or you can do a desturctive restore and restore your pc back to factory settings, but you'll loose your photos and anything saved on the hard drive.

Hi Sue
Kids are great aren't they? The magic combo you are looking for is alt and f10 (thats the f10 key - not f, 1 and 0). You need to press down the alt key and f10 simultaneously while the ACER screen is up.

The manual for your laptop can be found at this link. http://www.scribd.com/doc/2505575/Acer-Aspire-Laptop-manual

The instructions for the recovery are located on page 25. There is also a notice there that disk to disk recovery must be enabled in the bios for it work. The instructions are there to verify if this is so. Good luck and let me know how it goes.
