When I turn on the camera the LCD screen is waving around with a black line to the left hand side of the screen.
Is the battery on it's way out and needs replacing or is the whole camera on it's way out,
My cameras LCD screen was all white, sometimes horizontal lines would appear..thats all..it still took pictures but i could only see them on the computer. if you take it apart and cleaning it doesnt work, a friend found a foam like piece that had fallen from somewhere in the camera and was making a wire short out. after he removed it and put the camera back together it worked fine.

Re: kyrocera finecam S3L
Sounds like a connection from a ribbon cable or connector that connects the LCD to the curcuitry. Best this is twist or tap on side of camera to see if it changes and if it does and you feel comfortable taking apart tiny electronics lke this Go for it clean the connector(s) running from the LCD BUT I warn you if your not expereanced to do this I would contact the manufacturer as most companys have flat rates on most repairs.

Screens for the Z1275 can be found on Ebay for as little as $20 w/shipping. The rear case of the camera is held in place with 5 screws, one of which is under the left side panel (looking from the rear). Make sure the battery and SD card are removed before starting. Remove the right side panel by removing the two black screws and by opening the battery door it will help give you access to lift it away. Remove one chrome screw on the bottom back and one black screw the bottom left holding the left side panel in place. Slide the left side panel downward and remove the last screw underneath. The rear case is now held in place by several snap-fit points around the edge. Using a small nylon pry tool, strong fingernail, or a small flat screwdriver, work your way around the case and carefully pry the sides and bottom enough to release the rear case. Once the back is removed you can release the LCD from its frame by gently prying the frame around the LCD and lifting it up to gain access to the ribbon cables attaching it to the circuit board. The larger cable is held in place by a locking bar on the socket that has to be lifted to release it. Using care not to break it, pry the bar up so that it pivots 90 degrees. The smaller cable uses a slider that can be released by pushing the two tabs on either side of the socket toward the cable until it stops (only a millimeter or two). At this point the cables should slide out quite easily. Reverse the procedure to install the replacement LCD.
It sounds like a bad connection on the ribbon cable of the LCD screen to the camera's motherboard. The fact that when you physically move the camera around and you can get the screen to then work, tells me something is loose inside.
de-solider the red and black wires closes to the battery door REMEMBER how they go
turn the camera over
on the right hand side there it you control board or cable
VERY VERY carefully pry up the control board it can rip very easily
now you can remove your LCD you might have to pry it up CAREFULLY because it might be taped down.
Hope this helps It is not that easy to repair digital cameras if you feel unsure about the repair leave it to the experts it would only cost you around 85.00 + Shipping to have the camera fixed. I repair these all the time and Know it is not that easy to fix.
Dirt /dust in the lens and lens gear box ( this drives zooming only ) preventing optimum functioning. Lens cannot properly come on line ( shutter and diaphragh mechanism then do not come on line ) and the camera switches off. Solution : is ether replace lens unit or dismantle lens to clean out ( from gear box and the helicoil of the lens ).
Hi. I have exactly the same problem after owning this "camera" for under two years. Happened aftrer only 16mths.I also bought another battery(which I willl take back for a refund). The only solution that has been offered to me came from the supplier who said to buy ANOTHER one. Nice for them!!!!
