Pa12NA048-d. How many tons is this unit? It's 7 years old and went out. Needs replacing.

Hi, the tonnage is a 4 ton unit. It says in the model number, the 048. There is 12,000 btu's per ton of cooling. So, on your unit 4x12=48= a 4 ton unit.

Con you tell me how much freon a 3 ton fidgedair spilt system holds i hit them line with the hedge trimmers. i am a lisence plumber so i can fix it just need to know how much it holds i am laided off at...

About 6 LBS what you need to do is cut the lines back and Install a coupler and braze the lines together. Then hook your guages up to the system pull a 30 inch vacuum with a vacuum pump. Then you can start charging the system with freon liquid through high side guage and gas through low side guage. Charge the unit till the big line probably 3/4 inch sweats back to the compressor till a half dollar sized ring is on the compressor where the line goes into.Let me know

I wnt to know if this is for a 4 ton condenser the coil I have is an a- coil and the model number is c3qa-0470-b serila number is ku917228a or 917728a...i can not find a brand mname on this...thank you so...

Yes, the ''47'' in the model number stands for the btu rating.

2 ton = 24
2.5 ton = 30
3 ton = 36
3.5 ton = 42
4 ton = 48
5 ton = 60

That's just a short explanation of how they number the equipment. Hope this helps.

Hi there I have a model number for my carrier a/c unit. I need to find out the tonnage. 38ykc042300 Please any help I will be very greatful.

This is a 3 and 1/2 ton unit.
The 042 in the model number is the tonnage of your carrier unit.
AC tonnage is based on 12,000 btu per ton.
12,000.....1 ton
18,000.....1 and 1/2 ton
24,000.....2 ton
30,000.....2 and 1/2 ton
36,000.....3 ton
42,000.....3 and 1/2 ton
48,000.....4 ton
60,000.....5 ton.
There is no 4 and 1/2 ton unit.

What is the size of coil in air handler is it 3 1/2 ton and believe that rudd only made 2 ,3 , 4, 5 , ton coil is this right

It is a 3.5 ton air handler and without knowing for sure about Rudd only making those sizes which they should, they more than likely would have gone up to a 4ton coil. One way to cross check this, is to see what ton the condenser outside says it is. If you have a 4ton condenser, then you should have a 3.5 to 4 ton coil, either being okay. What you don't want, is a 3 ton coil and a 4 ton condenser and so on. A half ton isn't going to be a problem regardless, but if anything, you can always take the measurements of the coil if you are trying to replace it.

What is the size of my GE AC unit Model BGTA848RIA

according to the numbers given here you have a 4 ton a/c. Tons are measured in sections of 12. If the model has 12 in it then it is a one ton if it has 24 in the model number it's a 2 ton a 2 1/2 ton would have a 30 in the model number and so on so since the model number you have here shows it as being a 4 ton unit. Hope this helps
