Green horizontal lines on display

First thing to try is another HDMI cable and see if this fixes the problem. Seen a bad cables way too many times...

Second: update your videocard to the latest drivers:
You can find the correct drivers @ AMD support. Click the link and choose the correct settings. Then click display results. Download & install.

Third thing you could try is another monitor. Even a new monitor can be broken. Not uncommon. If another monitor has a good image then return your new one and let them give you a good one

Good luck!

I have a horizontal white line has been appearing recently on the bottom of my lap top's screen, i have not installed any new software and it hasn't fell down like ever ... what's the solution...

Hi,

Just boot to BIOS (either by pressing Del, F2, F10 (depends on the laptop brand).. upon turning on the unit). If the white lines appear, your problem is with the LCD screen.

If no white line in BIOS, install an updated driver of your video card. However, if installing the driver doesn't help, your video card is faulty.

Hope this helps,

There's a pulsating line on the bottom of the lcd screen of a compaq presario CQ40 notebook pc. How can I solve this problem? Thanks. There is a flashing white line that appears at the bottom of the screen.

Hook an external monitor to your laptop. If from the external monitor, it will display fine, then videocard is good, replace the LCD screen. If it has the same problem then you need to replace the videocard. In this case, possibly the whole motherboard should be replaced.

Black and white lines after bios screen before boot up

The issue appears to be cosmetic if the system boots to WIndows and there are no display issues using the system. Some systems I've seen have a bit of video distortion between the BIOS splash screen and the desktop. A couple things may change that. Update the system BIOS and the video driver to the most current available

Videocard problem?

Hello Gergerald,

To isolate the issue further connect the notebook to an external monitor and check the display on it. If the display is perfect on external monitor then the issue is with the LCD screen of the notebook.

If you have got the same lineds on the external monitor then the issue is with the video card of the notebook.
