You should have its service manual to perform adjustments. let me know do you have it? also mention what data of adjustments you disturbed so resulted lost sound and display back-up.

Use following steps to reset channel, but I lost the sound 1. Unplug TV 2. Press Channel up and Volume up at same time, while plugging TV back in (two person job - it will pull up a service screen) 3....

img{-moz-force-broken-image-icon:1;} Same no sound issue happened to me; except I stopped at adjusting vertical size (unfortunately it seems horizontal cannot be set thru service mode; which was my original intent). Complete lost of sound signal processing; oddly enough speaker volume leveling did worked. (Eg, audio-in woks; so a big WTF?!) I suspect something to do with not recovering properly the data bus from muxing the volume input keys; ie, some kind of weird service/back-to-normal switch bug. I've waited for a couple of days for the damn thing to unlock itself out it (like some stubborn transistors seem to do); but to no avail. (BTW, only dif between TVs is that mine's a slightly smaller and cheaper model, a 19U-M100S; a minor branch out of the main line.) I'm afraid something did "burned out" and that the only real fix is to actually change the "defective" part. Had I known silly sh1t like that could happen, I obv would've not messed with it to begin with. It's just ridiculous, and lame. Besides being obsolete. In any case; I also think it's nowadays better to get a (full) digital one (wisely cost effective).

What is standby mode and how to take off TV will not turn on

It means that something in the power section has failed, and the system goes into standby (safety) mode.Could be a fuse, resistor,or IC.Does it blink? On your remote you could press display,channel,5,volume - (minus),then power, for the diagnostics,.....for service mode press display,channel,5,volume + (plus) then power, press 8 then enter

My kv34hs510 will not power up and the standby light flashes 6 times and then repeats. What is wrong? Ron....

There is a power issue,tv goes into standby (safety) mode. For self-diagnostics, press Display,channel,5,volume - minus not plus, then press power. You have no horizontal output, check IC206,C516,C515....for service mode press Display,Channel,5,volume + plus, then power,press8,then enter......hope this helps....

The volume of sony wega kv-sw29m61 set always to maximum when it turned on

On your remote control (with tv off)
1. press Display, channel 5, Volume Up and then Power
this brings up the service mode (you will see some green text on your screen)
2. Press channel 2 to scroll through options until you see "Micro" in the upper left of your screen
(channel 2 cycles up through the options, channel 5 cycles down)
3. Press channel 1 to scroll through suboptions until you see "DIOF" appear under "Micro"
(channel 1 cycles up through the suboptions, channel 4 cycles down)
4. Press channel six until the default value (12:60) changes to 12:40
(channel 3 increases the value, channel 6 decreases the value)
5. Once the value has been changed to 12:40, press Muting and you should see red text in the upper right hand corner that says "Write"
6. Simply turn the power off and back on for the change to take effect. Your volume problems should now be fixed.

All was Ok on Wednesday 4th November, but now I can't get channels 3, 4, 5. When I retune - it just says 'this programme number is not availabe' and yet I can get them on smaller Tvs upstairs

Try this: With set off hit the display button on remote, then the channel five button, then the volume up button then the power button , do all this within 3secs of pressing the first button. The unit should come on in service mode. Now hit the number 8 key and then the enter button. The set should turn itself off the turn itself back on on channel 3. This procedure is the factory reset mode. It resets the set back to when u first took it out of the box. Remember all user settings will have to be reset back to your specs.

Black box when tv is on and going through channels

This worked on my tv...give it a try:

go into your menu and find closed caption, someone has accidently set the closed caption mode to text, when the on screen display of channel or volume goes away the box appears. turn off the closed caption feature or switch it to something other than "text" mode, and your box will go away.

Sony FD Trinitron WEGA TV Model Number KD27FS170 volume problem

I had the same problem with the volume in digital mode and found the answer here: http://www.justanswer.com/questions/1m0ln-sony-fd-trinitron-wega-tv

The actual solution is towards the bottom of the post and hard to read through, so I simplified the instructions below:

No volume and channel display

Hi,
In this situation as I don't know what adjustment item has been changed, go to service mode and press 5 and 0 on remote. This will reset all adjustments data on factory default. press mute and zero to write on memory. I want to inform you that after above procedure, you will have to adjust Horizontal, Vertical picture size and pin amp adjustments to get normal picture.
Good luck.
