HI deannaschair,
ngafm to your rescue,
Happy to be of assistance.
You put the recommended cap full of softener in the draw but does not rinse away.
I have cleaned the draw and the inner part of the machine. The washing powder part is working fine.
The softener is electronically controlled and needs hands on service from a trained tech to diagnose the choise of which part needs to be replaced.
How old is the appliance?
If the appliance is 10 years old or more you may not be advisable to put good money into bad! New applinces are so much more efficient today that they can save you a lot of money in energy!!!!
You need a hands on tech for this repair!
You will be fine
Bless You ,
