I just got my LG rumor phone about 2 weeks ago and now its giving me an error 097 and I cannot call anyone or receive calls, and the same thing with text messages. Please tell me what I can do to correct this problem!

I have been having the same problem since yesterday. When I called VM, there was an automated response saying that they were having some kind of system error.

This happened to me also. Just let it sit there with it's battery OUT of it.. until it stops, this may take a week or 2.

Locking Your Phone
When your phone is locked, you can only receive incoming
calls or make calls to 911, Sprint Customer Service, or special
numbers. (See “Using Special Numbers”on page 63.)
1. Press Menu > Settings/Tools > Settings > More... > Security
and enter your lock code.
2. Select Lock My Phone > Lock Now. (To setyour phone to
lock the nexttime itis turned on, selectOn Power Up.)
Unlocking Your Phone
1. From standby mode, press Unlock(rightsoftkey).
2. Enter your lock code.

Remove the battery and the sim card and leave it in a warm place (not on top of a radiator) for a few days.

(If it is possible to open the case without doing any damage, then this would speed up the drying process

Unfortunatly that exact same problem jus happened to me earlier this week...what i did was, i took my phone up to a sprint store actually today lol jus got home actually..but i took it up there and LG discontinued the LG Rumor..im guessing from so many deffects and problems that seem like they never stop. ive had 3 diffrent LG Rumors so yea its a horrible phone...but anyway, they replaced my LG Rumor with the new LG Rumor2...the same day...and so far so good..so try that...u should gt the same results and they should give u the free upgraded LG Rumor 2

Call sprint tech support and have them walk you through resetting your picturemail token. This will require your lock code so you will need to be speaking with sprint. They will also check your picturemail account.

try other camera apps or try reseting the camera app if both does not work reinstall your phone software

Can you make calls?

If so you need to take your LG Rumor back to the store were you bought it. If you have insurance they will fix it or give you a new phone.

Sounds to me like the network and cellphone are not communicating properly. This is most likely due to software issues on the phone and not the phone itself. I recommend you contact sprint either in person at their store or customer service from your phone. They should be able to help from there.

This is a known issue with the Rumor. If you take your phone into a sprint repair center or call technical support, they will most likely repair or replace it for free.
