If you've switched 'off' the TV with its remote control; while the main power switch is On; you should use the remote control to switch it ON again. No other alternate way. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

samsung dlp tv hlp4667w still picture and white lines over picture with no sound, i turn it off and then on by unpluging the tv and it worked. the picture is shaky from right to left. there is no response from the remote or the main switch on tv when this happens.
I don't have a solution but if you take off the speaker grille on the front of the set and see two ribbonish cables, unplug the smaller one. The volume will not increase anymore but you cannot use the controls on the front of the tv and the power light will not show green anymore. You can however use the remote to do everything on the set that you would normally do. Hope this helps until I find a real solution.
You can get an IR remote tester at radio chack or frys. It's just a card that you point and shoot at with the remote. If you do not see red flashing on the card replace the remote . If you do then call serv shop. remote reciever is bad.
Good Day, hcolern2b;
Sound like your TV's front panel button assembly is bad, replace or disconnect and use remote only.
Good Luck, big IRISH.............PS disconnect from front by removing speaker grill and small black panel, follow wire harness.real close by.
I had this happen on mine after about 3 years. Luckily it was on extended warranty. At first the techs re-soldered the connections to the board for the IR sensor but the problem was still intermittent. The next time they replaced the mainboard and all is well - just like new.
