I have a Toshiba 3387DB TV and am trying to connect it to my laptop. Tried to use DVI (out of laptop) to RGB phonos cable. Then through a scart adapter into the Scart 1 socket at back of TV. Manual says...

You need to convert the component sync signals into a composite sync compatible with SCART. The red, green and blue signals can be connected through as-is.

Picture is green.I tried cleaning picture tube and attached board with Q-tip and alcohol but did not help

Change the input if possible, especially if you are playing via a freeview receiver. I had to change the output to video scart and it worked properly.

Goodmans Tv wont show dvds

Usually with DVD players, picture & no sound, or sound & no picture is caused by the scart lead not being plugged in properly.

Sound pins are at one end of the connector and audio pins at the other.

If you are using scart make sure that the plugs at both ends are pushed in all the way. The plastic part of the plug should just touch the socket.

If you are using S-Video (Round connector with 4 pins) you also need to connect a twin phono-phono (Red & Black or White) lead to carry the audio, as S-Video only carries video.

Fuzzy and ghost picture

Sounds like Either the cable from the wall to the TV is bad usually this will cause ALL channels to be fuzzy.Or your cable on the outside of the house is damaged.another common problem is the outlet on the wall has a bad connection. If they get painted over with wall paint this will also cause the problem.change the wallplate. If its damaged outside the cable company will usually fix it for pay for the service and it their responsibility to make sure you wiring outside the house is working properly.

TV, Sky, DVDR, VCR + Wii connection

i cant see any problem with the connections. have you tried to connect the dvdr along with sky to another tv set? and did the same problem occured? if not, try connecting it the same way with another tv. and see if thesame problem would occur. if the same problem appears check if the connections from sky to dvdr scart if it is loose or not. try to clean the solid wire of the cable. if proble still persists dvdr is faulty. if not, defenitely there is a problem with the tv. and i suggest for you to have it checked.

36" tube tv. picture fuzzy and out of focus

It sounds like you may have a G1 intermittent short in the picture tube, which unless it is still in warranty would not be worth repairing.

Its probably a bad cable otr the connections inside the set where the scket connects to the chassis has broken connections on the mounting. To fix this your gonna need to know how to solder and know the HI Voltage issues with tv sets so if you dont please seek a pro to assist you with this repair. Good Luck
