Does the TV turn off on it's own, or is the remote being pointed at the TV when it goes off - without you pressing the power button on the remote? If the TV goes off with the remote pointed at it (without you pressing the power button), it could be old batteries, or you need a new remote. Have you tried replacing the batteries in the remote? If it's not the batteries, have you got a universal remote lying around somewhere that you can program to operate the TV and try to operate the TV with it? If you determine that it's not the remote, it is probably something to do with the infrared remote sensor, or something faulty in the sensor's circuit board that controls the power switch. How old is the TV? If still under warranty, I would call the manufacturer and explain your problem. They will be able to assist you with any further questions you may have. The number for the manufacturer's Customer Service is located inside of the owner's manual. If you no loner have the manual, you can easily get the contact info via the manufacturer's website. Good luck, and I hope this helps...

Tv turns on with difficulty

First try unplugging the set from the wall completely for about 20 minutes. Does the TV function normally from the buttons on the set itself?, just to eliminate any possibility of the remote being the problem. If you disconnect all the inputs that go into the set, do you get the same problem? How many hours do you have on the lamp approximately - usually if a lamp has problems, it wouldn't be intermittent or occasional, but if the lamp is nearing its expected life span, then it is just possible. Removing and reinstalling the lamp may be worth a try, just in case there is a bad contact. Does it seem to work more easily when the set is warm? If the relay itself is ok, which it sounds like it is, then the problem is most likely in the power supply somewhere, especially if it appears better when the set is warm. I had no luck finding a user manual or service manual for this set online - if you have one somewhere check to see if there is a "reset" function for the set - I'll keep looking. Are you able to open the set up, firstly to identify the relays in question and check them, and also to inspect the power transformer and associated circuitry? Waiting for your info, Hope this helps :)

Set comes on by itself sometimes for short intervals and occasionally for hours.

This can happen for a few different reasons. The first being the most popular, is that something around the set or in the same general area is giving off a similar signal that the on command gives on the remote. This actually happens from time to time at my home. Also it could be because a button is stuck or sticking on the remote or the front of the set. good luck

I have an intermittant problem on the hdmi channel of my LT-37DS6FJ. It occasionally loses the signal and the screen turns blue. The only way to overcome the problem is to swtich off the TV and restart...

This is a problem that is not likely to be resolved remotely. That being said, here are a few possibilities:

1) The video switching chip inside the set is defective and sensitive to heat.
2) The voltage regulator that controls the power to the chip is defective. (in essence turning off the chip)
3) The microprocessor that controls the whole set is getting confused (for whatever reason) and switching to another input stream without any indication to the user.
4) The dialogue over the HDMI tells the set that there is no video being sent/

The best thing to do here is to look for a pattern of when this occurs. FOr example, does this occur only after the set has been on for a while or is it immediate? Are other inputs effected in the same way or just the HDMI?

I'm going to assume that this is a relatively new set and that hte warranty is still in effect. Request warranty service, this symptom suggests either a logic problem in the microprocessor or perhaps just a power supply problem. In either case, this will not be an easy problem to find. One thing that would help is to see if there is any pattern to when this occurs. For example, doe sthe set need to be on for a long time before this shows up? Any info along that line will be helpful to the servicer.

Since the set is only 4 months old, it should still be under warranty. DO NOT open up the set as that will void the warranty. Call for warranty service and indicate that this is an intermittant problem. If you can report any pattern about when this behavior occurs, that info will be helpful in resolving the problem.

Phillips 60'' projection hdtv wont turn on

Question do you see green led or light when pressing power button? If you can also listen for a high pitch noise coming from back of set. This would be an indication that the set has powersuppy problem or high voltage problems. If the set is dead and no noise then maybe fuse or open circuit.

Phillips 60'' hdtv wont turn on

It sounds like its had it. Sometimes it might mean a bad powercord or that the powercord went out on you. Is your set DLP or is it just regular CRT rear projection? If its DLP or DILA/LcoS you should check to see if the lamp has imploded. Good luck. p.s. you can always check the batteries in the remote to :) maybe they need to be replaced?
