Question about Sharp Aquos LC-32G4U 32 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

TV will lose picture then go into standby!

My TV will work fine for about 1 hour than it loses the picture with the green power light still on...then it goes into standby, then turns itself back on. It will repeat this until I leave the TV. If I keep a fan blowing high on the AVC unit it stays on all day. Could this be temperature related like i think or is it a board problem? Do I need to send in? Thanks. Brian

My sharp tv will sometimes go to standby mode.  The green on light stays on and the voice is still there but the pivture is black.  We have had the tv about a year and a half now and it is doing it more.  If you turn it off for 5 or 10 minutes then it can be turned back on and seems fine until it goes off again, in masybe an hour or maybe a week.  I asked the sears saleperson and they knew nothing except  to tell me to call a service tech.

Exact same problem, picture goes black at random times, who knows how many times you have to turn on and off before picture returns. Does anyone know if there is a recall for this? Thank you for your time, Cindy

Screen will go blank. However, you can still hear audio. Have to turn off and on, somtimes multiple times. I also noticed set extremely warm. Sharp should back this product. No more Sharp products for me!

I've experienced the same issue with my set a few months after purchase. It has since gotten progressively worse. Just as the FixYa responded that it is a temperature issue, I've notice that the problem does seem to coorespond with temperature changes, but should a television be that sensitive. My issue isn't heat but cold. I don't constantly run my thermostat, so mornings and cool days pose an issue. I've had the television for lest than two years and do not want to go through the expense and hassle of purchasing a new set.

Hi, I just bough the 42 inch LCD 2 Weeks back and now I have a Complete Blank Screen with only Audio. THis is disturbing. i wanted to know if I leave it on, will it start working again or should i switch it off. I am sure its a temp issue as on the forum. I have moisture problems. Please advise.

TV just loses picture. Sound remains. I have to turn off the set for a few minutes than it works again. But this happens several times a day and it a pain. What can I do to fix it. TV is less than 2 years old.

My TV has been doing this for a few years its annoying. I am thinking of just going out and getting a Vizio.

The problem I have is similar - the picture goes black but the sound still on. Very frustrating especially for the kids! I have just switched the set off and back on again as the remote does not work. Surely there should be a recall

I have the same Freaking problem. It's driving me nuts. I reset it and then halfway through the day it's a problem again!!!!!!

I have a LC42D85U I bought on Apr 20, 2009 and it also has this problem. It has happened 3 times in the last week. (Note today is May 11, 2009)

All three times I sat there in amazement for about 30 seconds, and then the picture came back on. I can't help but wonder if I should be shutting off the tv for a while before using it again, or if it is ok to continue using it after this happens. In general, LCDs in many places are used for long periods of time, sometimes even 24/7.

Sounds like a call to SHARP is in order.

Picture goes out, but audio stays on. This started about 4 days ago. We turn it off, and eventually the picture comes back. Now nothing. Totally black screen.
