Hi,
probably you have installation disc for your motherboard. On disc have necessary sound driver. Right click on MY COMPUTER and click properties, then click on HARDWARE and device manager. Then go on yellow interrogative. Right click UPDATE and leave to do automatically.
Good luck.

Good day sir, most likely you need to install the device driver located on the CD that came with your motherboard.
  1. Place your driver CD on your CD drive, Wait for the CD to autoplay.
  2. On the menu click or choose the device you want to install, that is your Audio (usually its high definition audio for the asus motherboard.
  3. Let the setup finish. your done, restart your PC.
Feel free to ask again, hope this helps.

WINDOWS XP SOUND DRIVER INSTALLATION

There may be other problems with your sound. however to install a sound device download Driver-Mechanic free from www.elitegroup.com driver updates and run it on your computer, it will automatically detect any required driver updates for your PC and update them as required from the website free. Alternatively go to your control panel, open system icon, click hardware tab, click device manager, go to sound video & game controllers & double click to open, select your multimedia controller and right click, click "properties", click the "Driver" tab & click the "update driver" button; windows will then guide through the process to update your driver.
