See if the compressor have any ventalation,if so there is a clickson and overload on your compressor, the clickson over heats and cut out.
This can also be early sighns of the compressor packing up...

Hope the little bad news helps.

Good luck.

Agian i have to come back to the venalation issue, The high room tump, it means that the a/c unit must work harder and longer too reach that point for the room to cool down.

You should also see if the btu of tha a/c is big enouth for your room size.a standerd room of say 6x6 meter you sould use a a/c unit of no smaler than 10000 btu/h.

It could be over heating coz the roor is too big.

Try testing it in a smaller room and we can start trouble shooting from there, also let me know of the btu and room size..

    Hope this helps...

I bought a DeLonghi PACC120E portable a/c with no manual. The unit does not cool, and it dumps water. How do I get it to blow cool air?

I would drain the water out of the machine via the plug on the back once the unit is drained turn on, wait a few minutes. If compressor does not come on or comes on and does not cool, you need service beyond diy.

My GE portable a/c will cool when I first turn it on. The compressor kicks on and it cools fine, but after it runs a few minutes it kicks off and never cools again. The fan just runs. It does not appear...

I would say that if it starts cooling when it's turned on, then it has freon in it. Sounds more like it's kicking off on high head pressure, meaning the condenser is not getting cooled, head pressure builds up then a safety limit switch shuts it down to save the compressor from burning out.. Is there a condenser fan maybe not operating? or are the condenser coils clogged up with dirt?

Compressor will cut on run a few minutes and shut off hot air

The compressor is probably going out on overload. There may be a small refrigerant leak thus making the compressor run hotter than usual. If there is not enough refrigerant in the system, the compressor will not get the refrigerant back to it to keep it cool. This is a safety feature built into the compressor to keep it from overheating and locking up. You may want to take it to your local appliance store and have it looked at. Most of the time it usually is cheaper to buy a new unit than to pay for just the labor to have them fixed.

Hot air

if the evaporator coil on it ices up the thaws then ices up again your low on freon/refrigerant some use R-22 freon and some newer units use R-134a refrigerant, you can look and see if the condenser and evaporator coils need cleaning because if they get dirty and cant get rid of heat and it will build too much head pressure and the compressor will cycle off to protect it,but it sounds like a low refrigerant problem

Wont no water to empty or drain

Either the unit is really dirty or it is low on refrigerant. A unit tha is low on refrigerant will start off cold and withing a few minutes, start warming up. If you aren't seeing any water its because of one or both causes listed.

Air conditioner wont cool

the compressor has a capacitor that helps to start the compressor if the compressor does not reach the speed required to jump from the start coil to te continum work in about 10 sec the termic protector disconect the compressor for about 5 minutes but the blower or fan does work just blowing the air and that is not cold
