Install a brand new needle. If it still won't pick up the bobbin thread, the machine may be out of time. Search for sewing machine timing or take it for service.
This was really helpful for me fixing my daughter a John Lewis (janome) mini sewing machine, and now can get the bobbin thread up again, however, when you sew, the thread is not staying in stitches, just coming off the material completely. I tried forcing the gears on one more time but then it didn't pick up the bobbin thread again so went back to the other gear position. Any ideas of what to try and get it stitching again? Thanks
try changing the needle to one that will work with heavier thread you may have to change the bobbin to heavier thread also try adjusting the tension also
1.check needle to see if it's bent or blunt end
2.check bobbin & bobbin case for lint or loose thread
3.could be a timming problem- would have to be serviced
