Problem for Toshiba Satellite M35X-S161 (PSA72U2JX00U) PC Notebook
Screen on Toshiba M35x S149 Laptop blank/flickers
I am trying to diagnose whether I need a new screen or just a new flow inverter for my screen problems. Is there a simple way to tell which one it could be? The screen initially went dark although I could still adjust the brightness and notice the change in brightness on the dark blank screen. Occasionally I can see the image but it jumps all around. When I first wake it from hibernation I can clearly see the mouse pointer and move it throughout the whole screen before it goes dark/blank/jumping image.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

this can be caused by many reasons, here are some that comes to my mind:
1. bad connection between computer and screen, usually an easy one, but since its a laptop, you cannot change cable, so you will have to take it to the lab. anyway, if it is the problem, fixing it should be cheap.
2. in order to make sure it is "only" a faulty monitor, connect the laptop with another monitor, I dont know the exact function in this specific model, but as long as it has an video output, it can be done.
3. it is posible that backlight invertor has short circuit and should be replaced. this one can cost up to several hundred dollars, so be prepered.
