I suspect you have it wrongly installed on the drain.
if the drain pipe goes into a standpipe, you may have drain pipe pushed too far down and a syphon forms. drain pipe need only go into standpipe a few inches.
otherwise, if not drained into a standpipe, take drain hose up in a swan neck to worktop level
