SOURCE: adjusting curtis mathes projection tv model fp4600ek02

Hi,
If this tv is more than 10 years old, I would say the three projection tubes are getting weak.
This may be a good time to invest in a new tv.
considering the difficulty of obtaining parts for it and the other problems you could have in the near future, it would be cheaper to replace the tv.
If the tv is not that old, please let me know the model number for more assistance.

SOURCE: What is the code for

I own a One-for-All universal remote, and my booklet says that the setup code for a Curtis Mathes TV ( without a built-in DVD or VCR) is one of the following numbers: 0030, 0047, 0054, 0060, 0093, 0145, 0154, 0166, 0451, 0702. I can not guarantee that these numbers will work with your remote, but it is worth a try.

Having problem with getting the color and contrast right?

Good Day;
Turn your color down all the way, do you get a good Black and White picture with good black, white and grays? If not your picture tube may be going bad. It can be adjusted sometimes to get a 'better' picture.
If picture is a good B&W; adjust britness level: 50% > contast: > 90/95 % >color: 50%.
Good Luck, big IRISH.

Mitsubishi VS 5047. Won't turn on. When the on switch is pushed it immediately turns itself off.

I had just put in about $500 worth of work into this TV to clean the color tubes of bacteria and other miscellaneous problems - They kept my TV for 3 months before bringing it back. It worked for 2 days and then everything went green, so they came back and took it for another 30 days before bringing it back.
This new problem could have been anything as simple as a tube to a circuitry problem. We decided to junk this Mitsubishi product. I have a 30 year old Curtis Mathis TV that I've never had any problems with (that's 3 times the age of the Mitsubishi).
We've opted for a new 50-inch Panasonic Plasma with the anti burn in technology. I will not buy another Mitsubishi product, or a rear projection TV of any brand after this experience.

Scratched Glass Television Screen

you will need to replace the tube there is no screen its the actual face of the picture tube. very expensive around 500 for a new tube that size. I have a source for used rebuilt tubes for around 275.00 shipping included. If interested let me know the model number and I will inquire as to the availability.
