You could try resetting the camera and that will set everything back to original factory defaults. Go into you setup menu and at the bottom is reset. Try that and see if that works. If not you would have to send it in. That camera's old enough it may just be the buttons are worn out.

What are "lens error" fixes 4, 5, and 7 ?

The fault of a lens error be it in the shutter, zoom or auto focus is due to failure of the Main control system or the drive. A simple was is to reset and we can try by removing the battery and card for some time. Now replace only the battery and while switching power ON, tap the lens hood on the palm of your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck.
Use some air to blow between the lens to dislodge any sand particles struck inside. Unless you are familiar with handling of small devices must the camera be opened. If so check the voltage on the motor drive, check the auto focus and Zoom drives, it must be free with manual movement. If jammed the motor can be removed and released. If none of these works then you can think of taking consensus with the service centre.
Get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the authorised service as you do not have to run around for spares.

Zoom strucked

Hi

Your lens needs to be repaired or replaced. There are online places that will do it for a decent price and there are others that overcharge by way too much.

I know, because I own one that charges a reasonable price to do the repair! (Google 'darntoothysam')
Just let us know if we can help!

You can also buy a defective camera online and use the parts to fix one from the two yourself.

Good luck from Darntoothysam com

Lens Struck

I had the same problem for several dads. I know this sounds silly, but after reading about numerous people having the same problem and without many solutions offered, I tried the somewhat weird suggestion of shaking my camera vigorously around and it worked! I promise.
