Reload I just bought the 245BW and when i have an application open that requires scrolling down such and the internet or help menus, the screen does not scroll smoothly. It's almost like it has to reload the content everytime I scroll down. However if I take it down from full screen to about half screen it seems to operate more smoothly. I have a Radeon HD 2400Pro graphics card but maybe thats not enough. Please help

I'd say your video card is having trouble pushing the resolution of the monitor. I'd upgrade the video card.

Samsung 245BW No Display

have you tried this monitor on another computer? what was the result? Also, try laying the monitor down flat and see if you see any "ghosting" from the characters on the screen. (if the backlight goes out on the monitor, you should be able to see some of the graphics displayed on the screen still with a flashlight or at an angle if the monitor is working)
let me know what you find out

No screen power up

There are one or two open capacitors in the power supply, they often have a bulge at top due to leakage.

Samsung SyncMaster 245BW - no image - screen flickered once or twice and then went dark. Reconnected cables, tried different cables - all with same result - no picture. Any usggestions?

It may ahave 24vdc power supply problem due to bad caps, ect, or bad backlights inverter board, worst case will be the lamp assemblies. It will require in-depth troubleshooting.

245BW Snap/Crack sound and then does not work

Be very careful! Some monitors/TV's have 30,000+ volts DC in them even when not plugged into AC house current. The crack/snap sound was most likely an electrical component breaking down and shorting against the metal of the case of the monitor. I would take the monitor to an authorized repair center because the danger of getting shocked/killed is very possible while working on this type of problem at home.

Syncmaster 245B Monitor Shivering horizontal lines

Which type of video connector are you using? VGA or DVI?

If you are using VGA, the horizontal line could be due to interference, like from an electric motor (fan) near the video cable.

Other thing to try is to change the refresh rate. In Windows XP: Control panel --> Display Properties --> Settings tab --> Advanced button --> Monitor tab --> Screen refresh rate. The default ot 60Hz for LCD monitors. Bump it up to 75Hz. That could give a clue to the problem or maybe even fix it.

245BW monitor not working (stranges colors ad aeternam...)

I had the same problems as almost all of these people and the answer seems to be that I uninstall the current Nvidia Drivers and use a previous set. The 169.28 were a real problem for me. Just when I thought it was working I would get the strange wash out and I could not turn it off except with the back power switch, aslo using the DVI turns off all the on screen controls.

Good Luck

My monitor has a horrible lag

Your monitor should have a reasonable to good refresh rate so I doubt it's at fault. It sounds as if you have another program running in the background which is slowing your computer down. Press the keys CTRL. ALT and DELETE at the same time and have a look to see what's running. Close down any programs you aren't using and see if that fixes things. Another problem could be a shortage of memory. I'd recommend no less than 512 Megabytes or ram with Windows XP. If you could give me more info as to which operating system you're using, how fast is the CPU and how much memory etc it would be easier to diagnose. One last thing, you could have a virus and it's chewing up memory. Do you have an up to date virus checker? If not install AVG. it's completely free and available on the net. While you're at it install a spyhunter program and malware checker. There's some weird rogue nasties crawling all over the net. You could've even installed a nasty along with a freebie program you got off the net. BMW
