Why does my magnavox 52 inch dlp make a fairly loud humming noise for 10 minutes or so after turning the tV on? It gradually get quieter.

It is likely a bad fan that gets quiter as it warms up from use. There are two fans on that TV - one under the bulb housing and one at the left vent hole. They are special fans with three leads - +, - and an RPM indicator (yellow lead typically).

Where can a find a fan for my 60 inch philips plasm tv..

Ahm, Clearly Philips would be the first place to call and if you are sure a fan is bad they should provide a part number and or cost---I will presume you have (some models have more than one fan) cleaned the fans off with compressed air as dirt gathers on them and causes issues.

I can provide more help if given a model number

I have Samsung DLP TV 50 inch HL-P5063W

First thing to look at is the color wheel this model uses--usually it will make a high pitched fan like sound but can make a grinding sound also.

If it slows down from the 12,000 or so RPM speed it will cause color issues.

HAVE GRINDING OR HIGH PITCHED SOUND?

Hi,
TV needs lamp replacement as existing lamp got weak or has been reached to end of its working life, please note that lamp is not dead or broken so that is why lamp lit is not lit at tv front.
Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.

Philips 60pl9200D/37. Two Red lights on power button.

If the power button is displaying the bulb fault indicator AND overheat indicator lights at the same time, it indicates a faulty cooling fan. The television is smart enough to detect when either of the two cooling fans in the chassis have failed, or aren't spinning fast enough. To prevent overheating and damage, the set will not turn on if a fan is faulty. You'll need a replacement fan.

Whining noise sounds like the power supply in the TV ... not putting out the voltage it needs to project the image.... might have to consult with your TV repair

My Philips 60 inch rear projection TV model

Mute the volume and listen at the rear of the unit. You should be able to hear a fan running since these have hot-spots that require some kind of air movment to keep them from overheating. There are protective circuits that will shut down the power supply once a critical temperature is reached.
The second possibility is the power supply itself; these sophisticated units are very energy efficient but have components in them that age and lose their function over time. The main supply should be fairly easy to spot; it will have larger components on it, some cylindrical (capacitors), others block-like.
If the fan is running and it is still shutting down, this supply may need repair or replacement. Look for a part number on the board and inquire at the manufacturer's service center about those possibilities. Have your model & serial numbers of the set available too.

You have a cracked panel and the gasses inside have escaped. The buzzing noize you are hearing the the current flowing throught the panel. It will be cheaper buying a new TV than buying a replacement panel. But if u wanna check out the price look up your model on parts.com
