Question about Haier Dehumidifiers

1 Answer

Loud Vibration We just bought a new dehumidifer. The number is actually different than listed below but the site does not recognize it. It is a Haier HD308. Ever since purchasing it, it often makes a loud vibration. So loud, it's hard to concentrate, have a conversation, or hear the TV. Sometimes I just turn it off, because of the noise. I can't hardly think this is normal. Could you give us any help? If the sides are held, the noise ceases.

I have the exact same problem, and mine is new too. It started out quiet and got (very) loud after about 2 months. The model I have is a Haier 45 pint, HD456. I tried taping the handle to the bucket on the sides and front, but it didn't make difference. Mine is also quiet if I hold the sides. Does anyone have the solution?

My Haier dehumidifer runs but doesn't collect any water. I have another exact same dehumidifier sitting 10 feet away and it fills up about every 24 to 36 hours so I know the conditions are that it...

There are many reasons why a dehumidifier willnot work or collect water.
Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrongwith their dehumidifier

Dehumidifier is running but no water is in bucket

Runs, but no dehumidification. 6 months old.

If the room tempature is close to 60, the coils may be frozen (completely encased in ice). If this is the case, move it where the water can drain off - about 1 gallon which may NOT run into the drain bucket.
I out mine over the floor drain.
Turn off and it will defost over night.
Only specially made dehumidifers work below a room temo of 60 degrees (the temp of a basement in winter).
Does it need to be running? A digital humidity sensor from Radio Shack is cheap and may tell you the humidity is OK - only 50% or less.
