Question about Sharper Image Ionic Breeze 3.0 Air Purifier
I've done it all... cleaned it, unplugged it, flipped it upside down, HELD it upside down, and I realized that the light stays green if you hold down the button. I decided to hold my hand near it in an effort to feel air coming from it. Instead I got smoke and the smell of burning plastic. This thing was plugged in for 7 hours!! and it's dead. Sharper Image is out of business and I now have a 2 foot tall paper weight. Any help would be good help, but judging from the previous posts no one knows why this happens. I just wish it would have worked for more than 7 hours.
I went to the following web site and did exactly what it said to do and the red light is now off and working fine. Used 1500 grit sand paper glass balls go up and down wires with no problem now, before they didnt move.

Sharper Image recalled the units because they couldn't prove in court how they clean the air based on a report relesed by Consumer Reports. They lost and had to pay all the legal bills.
Ionizers have been proven by the EPA to not only be ineffective for cleaning the air but can be harmful to use as well.
Consumer Products Safety Comission is going to issue a report by the end of the year on them and their decision could put an end to ionziers sales in the U.S. altogether.
