There are a lot of Windows password revealers and crackers available, but I’ve found that Windows Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
it not only supports XP, 2000, and NT, I have personally tested it with Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. It works perfectly to reset any local user account to a blank password
You can use the ISO to burn a boot CD. Follow these instructions:
1. Download ISO file from http://www.windowspasswordsrecovery.com Windows Password Recovery Tool
2. Burn to a CD using a CD burning tool such as Nero or Roxio or MagicISO
3. Insert CD into drive and reboot.
4. You may have to select an option in the BIOS to get the computer to boot from the CD.
Booting up and clearing a password takes a minute or two works like a charm.

If a laptop is locked up, you have a couple options, you can unplug it, and remove the battery, or you can press and hold the power button until it turns off. I would try the second one before the first.

Reset hdd lock for acer aspire

Step 1:
The Dell Inspiron 1501 is a laptop computer which ships with the Windows Vista operating system. Recovering a lost password can seem difficult, as you will be locked out of the passworded account until remedial measures are taken, but it is not impossible. Recover from a lost password on your Dell Vista system by using the password-recovery features of your operating system.

Restart your Dell 1501 and tap "F8" as the computer is booting. Choose the "Safe Mode" option and press "Enter." Select the "Administrator" account to log in to the computer in Safe Mode. Click "Start," type "control userpasswords2" in the "Search" box and press "Enter." Click on the locked account and press "Reset Password." This resets and recovers the password on your Dell computer.

Dell inspiron 1501 blue screen

First of all have you made any hardware additions or changes? memory, hard drives new printer? If so un-do what you did!

Next can you get into the machine in safe mode by pressing F8 before the windows logo appears? and then choosing safe mode? If you can check the event log by right clicking my computer, choosing manage and viewing the system and application logs for any recent errors.

I have also seen this problem caused by your only hard drive not connected as a master and configured as a slave.

When did the problems start occuring? Have you done any software updates? If you can get into safemode you can do a windows system restore. If it fails you can attempt to do a system restore from the command prompt in safemode by following these directions:

Drop to a command prompt by doing a run (Windows Key - R)
Type CMD to get your command prompt.
Get to c:\windows\system32\restore anyway you like
and finally launch RSTRUI.exe and you should get the System Restore Wizard

It says it loading files and keeps restarting. Doesn't reach where i could log in to my laptop.

Try boot into safe mode via:
While the laptop is starting and posting the boot messages, keep pressing F8 until the boot selector comes up and then select safe mode with networking and then while you are in there, run the sfc command by following this procedure,
Click on the start menu, select run> then type cmd
In the command prompt, type "sfc /scanonce" without the inverted commas and then once the command had been accepted, restart and boot into normal mode this time, and it will run the system file checker before you log in theis time!
Hope this helped :D

How to Remove an Administrator Password in Windows XP

1 Insert your Windows XP CD into your CD drive and boot your computer. If you receive the message "press any key to boot from CD," press any key.

2 Press "Enter" to set up Windows. After you accept the license agreement, you will be asked if you want start a repair process.

3 Press "R" to begin the repair process. Setup will now check your disks and start copying files, which can take several minutes. After this, reboot. Let the computer boot normally (do not press a key to boot from CD).

4 Keep your eye on the lower left portion of the screen. When you see the Installing Devices progress bar, press "Shift" and "F10" at the same time. This will open a command line console.

5 Type "NUSRMGR.CPL" (without quotes) at the prompt, then press "Enter." This will give you access to User Accounts. Remove or change your password. Write it down. After the repair is finished, you will be able to log on with your new password.
