Model A200T. Mixer has just stopped working. The guard that goes in front of the mixer bowl does have a plastic piece that has been broken off. Could this be a safety switch of some kind? The mixer drive rotates so gears are not jammed.
I have the hobart A200T and have the same problem . It won't start

Try filling the bowl with hot soapy water and letting it soak over night. Sometimes debris can get stuck in the latching mechanism and harden up making it nearly impossible to get attachments off. After you let it soak and are able to detach the hook make sure and clean everything thoroughly with a wet rag and let it dry before trying to reattach it.
Depending on how old the mixer is, I would check the belts (if it is belt driven) to the planetary gears. If it is not belt driven, it sounds as if the motor is faulting out. I would replace the motor brushes first before spending money for a new motor. This may not be an intelligent question but I have to ask, are you overloading the mixer? A 12 quart mixer will do fine with cake batter but when you mix pizza or bagel dough, the moisture content is much less and it is equivalent to cement. Sorry, I had to ask because I have seen this before. Good luck and I hope this helps.
a dishwaher needs hot water to work properly a mixer i believe works so you do not get burned by hot water i believe correct me if i am wrong with a normal tap all you need is a special fitting for your portable and they usually are supplied with a new one or are cheap to purchase from a plumbing supply or loewes or home depot.check with where you want to purchase washer and ask if they work with a tap mixer
Removed intake water valve assembly and found a piece of plastic wedged in intake port preventing valve from closing. Piece of plastic was old filler tube from old hot water tank which disintegrated and got into hot water pipes in home. Similar pieces of plastic have affected water mixer valves at various sinks in home and have also plugged aeration screens.
