Question about RCA 27V530T 27" TV

Digital turner or not

Hello I have an Entertainment Series RCA 27V530T and I am trying to find out if it has a digital tuner. I did a search and found websites with both answer. I am trying to decide if I have to purchase a DTV converter box. Thanks

    Thanks for the heads up, but what happens if I decide to cut my cable? The economy is questionable and the $40 coupons are only for a limit time.

CAN I USE A DIGITAL TURNER TO GET THE TV TO WORK
If there is a COAX or RCA connection to connect a Digital Tuner, then yes, you could connect it. Assuming you can tune that TV on channel 3 or 4.

Digital or Analog
This TV has an NTSC (analog) tuner. You'll need a digital to analog converter if you want to receive most OTA channels.

Hello Scott:
The unit must have a digital Tuner in it. This model do not come with a digital turner, so you are going to need a digital to analog converter box. And a High Definition Antenna. Once you have obtained these units go to your menu and select setup and switch to the the air mode and select channel scan.

  1. Set Tuner Mode to "antenna".
  2. Run a channel scan. Should get zero channels found.
  3. Set Tuner Mode to "cable".
  4. Run another channel scan.
  5. Celebrate!

There are after market for mobile digital tv turner on sale on Ebay. You have to hook it up to the rear audio/video rca input on the brain. Goodlluck.

RCA tv with no picture
problem fixed, check capacitor CV018 100uf between the pin 54 and 55 in the video chip, the capacitor was leaking, also check the board for cracks.

Unusable Signal
I have exactly the same problem, with my RCA F27645. I can find no answers on the internet, so far.

I have 3 ideas.

1) The digital signal receiver must not be receiving the DVD signal properly.

2) Coaxial cable receiver (the little pin plug) problem

3) Digital TV (broadcasts) causing havoc on older TVs.

Tuner won't go above Channel # 99?
Most cable boxes that go past 99 are digital channels and require the cable box to tune them in. You can always set the cable box to the station you want and hookup the rca output to your DR4 rca input and record from that. Their is no other work around for this because the DR4 has an analog tuner inside of it and your cable box is a digital turner.
