Whirlpool/cabrio washer reads error LF and will not fill machine with water.

Can someone help me with the message LF? I don't know what's going on. I've only had this washer for one month. I didn't take out any extended warranties and don't know if the factory warranty will still be good.

The serial number has a two letter designation, the first is where it was assembled and the second is the year. A long fill error can be several items, we all need to know first, how full with water, is your supply low on pressure or do you have a drain hose inserted far enough to cause a siphon condition? You should hear a gurgle splash as it drains.

The factory warranty is usually good for the first year you own the appliance. Normally, a service company will ask for a receipt to validate this. If you cannot locate a receipt, your washer SERIAL NUMBER will determine the month and year the washer was manufactured. Any reputable service company will know this. This is the only time I would recommend that you do not attempt a repair yourself. If you open the washer and attempt any repairs, you may void any existing manufacturer's warranty. I would request a service call and have someone look at it. Keep records of all repairs and any receipts. Some manufacturer's have a lemon policy. You may want to review yours. In some cases, if the appliance is problematic, requires frequent repairs, AND you can prove it, they may replace it with an equal or comparible washer at no cost to you.

There is a tech sheet inside the washer mounted to the front of the wash tub that has all your fault codes and troubleshooting information. If you call for a service call, ask the service tech to retrieve it for you. Again, opening the washer cabinet may violate the terms of any existing warranty.

I hope you find this information helpful.

PS If you want to know the month and year your washer was manufactured, post back with your serial number (located along the wash tub opening) and I can get that information for you.

What does whirlpool duet error code lf?

Lf or long fill could be a multitude of many. Is the water turned on, is the hoses kinked , the water inlet screen clogged, water lines crossed, bad or faulty water inlet valve, or faulty pressure switch.

Im receiving the LF code what does this mean??

Check that the drain hose and water inlet hose are properly installed, and undo any kinks or clear any clogs if the display error reads "LF" indicating that the load is taking too long to fill, or "Ld" indicating that the washer is taking to long to drain. If the code reads "HC," the hot water hose is installed in the spot for the cold water hose and vice versa.
Also, check this information from Whirlpool DataBase: Display shows LF

Hope helps (remember to rate and comment this answer).

We just bought the washer and now it will stay on for 5 mins then all buttons blink and it says LF

LF stands for long fill,if it takes longer than a preset time by the machine it will go to LF,check water fill hoses for kinks, plugging that will slow down water fill time

I have a cabrio top loader washer and I'm getting a LF error message

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error LF means long fill, which flashes when the water level won’t change for a period of time after the valves are turned on or the water has disengaged the basket but control does not detect a water level change. TO resolve this issue check if the water supply is turned on and the hose screens are not plugged or kinked. If the water is not entering the machine then check the water valve, also check the pressure hose connection to the machine/motor control. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Whirlpool Cabrio washer is leaking water

The problem happens when your installer throws away the drain hose u-bend, and stuffs the hose as far as it will go down the drain pipe. When this happens the end of the hose can get pushed under water, which causes the washer to siphon out the wash water when it fills. This results in an LF "Long Fill" error.
The solution is to get your installer to come back and install the washer properly.
