Oven light burned out and the cover won't come off

The oven light burned out, but I can't remove the cover (to allow me to change the bulb). I have tried turning it as well as pulling it. I finally called Thermador today, and they told me it has to be changed by a technician. What?! It's going to cost me $99 to change a light bulb?

I need to change the interior light bulb in my Frigidaire over the counter microwave. The model # is FMV156DCA.

Good Morning Evelyn, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

Here are some simple troubleshooting tips to help replace the light bulb on your Frigidaire microwave, FMV156DCA.

·First, disconnect power to your microwave. This can be done by either unplugging it or at the circuit breaker panel.
·To release cover, remove the screw on the light cover (light cover may become very hot, do not touch glass when light is on).
·Remove old light bulb and replace only with equivalent watt bulb available from parts distributor or the manufacturer directly. Bulbs are also available at most hardware stores or lighting centers. Bulbs larger than 30 watts are NOT recommended.
·Close light cover and secure with screw removed in step 2.

I hope this information proves to be helpful. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to reconnect.

How to replace oven light bulb for beko DC543 electric cooker

hi
You may need to remove the glass cover by turning it anti-clockwise.
On some models access to the bulb is from outside so the oven has to be slid out of it's housing and an access plate removed.

chek this following steps..
Step 1 Make sure the bulb is actually burned out. Confirm the oven is plugged in and that a circuit breaker is not tripped.
  • Step 2 Look for the manual to determine what size bulb is required. Most use a 40 watt appliance bulb. If you can not find the manual, then buy a bulb to replace it after you take out the old one.
  • Step 3 Confirm that the oven is not on. Allow it to cool to room temperature if it has recently been used.
  • Step 4 Open the door and use a flashlight to light the area where the bulb is located. Do not put weight on the door itself, but go in at an angle or sideways.
  • Step 5 Find the shield or cover over the bulb, gently pull or twist it off. Some glass covers are surrounded by a wire clip or a ring that is screwed in to the back.
  • Step 6 Gently remove either the wire clip or ring. Since the cover is most likely glass, be cautious. Unscrew the entire glass cover similar to a jar lid in older versions of ovens. Then repeat process if there is more than one bulb.

Light bulb burned out in microwave oven

Most likely you're going to have to dismount the microwave and remove the outside cover to get to the bulb. This is a fair amount of work but is not rocket science. I'm not famliar with your particular microwave, but it's probably that way. If it's any comfort to you, light bulbs are usually not covered by warranties or service contracts.

It won't hurt to run the microwave without a bulb.

The interior oven light in most ovens is a standard 40 watt appliance bulb. Often, to change the bulb, you first need to remove a shield or glass dome. If the bulb isn't burned out, the problem may be with the switch on the oven door frame. If the switch works poorly, intermittently, or not at all, you need to replace it.
